Why I will never read all the Captive Prince fanfiction: it is the morning of January 16. There are 31 new CP items posted to A03 in 2022 so far. That’s two a day. Some of them are long. Holy crap. I’m not complaining. But, wow, youse guys are astoundingly prolific!

update March 18, 2022: **108** new works since the beginning of the year. And remember that many of them have multiple chapters that post regularly or irregularly. In 77 days. I am so happy to be in a fandom that loves these characters so much that they want to keep writing about them. Because I want to keep reading about them!

Looking for a fic...

I think it was written a few years ago, not posted on Ao3. It was pretty long, a Wincest fic, not usually my bag but it was completely different from any Wincest fic I’ve read. It begins when Dean and Sam, out on a road trip as usual, wake one morning to find the place they’re staying is completely deserted.  They go looking around, trying to figure out what could have happened to all the people.  There’s no destruction, none of the usual supernatural evidence -- and weirdest of all, no bodies.  Everybody’s just gone.  The longer and further they travel around the country, the more obvious it becomes: they are completely alone.  All evidence indicates that except for the two of them, the planet is suddenly devoid of people. 

It’s beautifully written, the sexual relationship grows out of the situation, there are lovely moments and a lot of suspense, and a sense of melancholy. It’s just great, and of course I didn’t bookmark or download or even note who the author is. 

Anybody read anything like that? Help!
