For the DM questions, 12, 13, 18, 19, 20
12) Do you make homebrew content? How much?
Oh, man, like, 99.5% of my content is homebrew. We follow the basic rules, class, races, and alignments of the book, but anything that involves worlds, realms, societies, cultures, etc.--- all that stuff is homebrew’d. It started because I’m hella dyslexic, so I had to make up my own content. I don’t have physical copies of the Dungeons&Dragons Guide books, so it’s extremely hard for me to read.... sorry to all my players who had to deal with my awkward world building at the start. Oh, boy, my 50 Years DND campaign was honestly my “Test Run” and “Rocky” campaign at the start because of my Dyslexia. They were so patient with me. Most of my players don’t mind the homebrew.
13) Do you have any favorite websites that help you DM?
Roll 20 Compendium and The Grimoire. They help me look up things really fast and in need.
18) Who are your favorite players? (I promise I won’t tell ;))
Ah! Mentioned in another post full of detail--- but here I will say that I like eccentric players! Not disobedient and completely straying 100% off the story or anything, but the kinds of players who think of alternate ways to handle a situation or a fight or anything, or do silly things like adopt or marry everything in sight--- little things to keep me on my toes.
19) What’s your favorite type of player? Class, Race, alignment, etc?
I tend to like Half-Orcs, Halfings, and Dwarves when it comes to making NPCs, but honestly? I love every character that my players make--- they always make them unique and full of life. I love it.
20) Do you like to mix other genres into it or are you strictly keeping it medieval fantasy (sci-fi, steampunk, eastern, etc)?
I generally keep it medieval fantasy--- but I try not to make it Euro-Centric because, you know, hundreds of cultures existed during the Medieval times: European, yeah, but also Asian, Middle Eastern, Steppes, Aboriginal American, Polynesian, African, etc. etc. It’s subtle, but I grew up with a lot of diversity (especially Chinese/Taiwanese, German, and Indigenous American/Mexican), so it’ll reflect a little in my worlds.
