A thought hit me, Hellsing is actually about rejection of the self
Major says that Alucard is a monster that compromised his indivduality
"A monster has many faces and all of them stolen"
Rejected his self to become a tool of God, the nail took total Control of his self
He is a monster that put his self on top of all else
While the opposite of Alucard he is still evil
Basically the message is "don't compromise your self but also get off your high horse or ur fucked too lol"
Seras is pretty selective about the blood she drinks from what we see of her
She drank Pip's blood as some fucked up vampire marriage, she let him in so that their both selves can exist together
She refuses to drink Zorin's blood, she doesn't want Zorin's self to be within her like Pip's
Half assed and made on a bus but whatever. The takeaway from this is: Hellsing is about an individual's self, and also Alucard is the biggest fucking slut in history : )))))
(once school calms down I really should do some in depth analysis of Hellsing, I mean at this point 😭)
(and yeah, basically everyone is foil to each other, you could squeeze every character into this like put Maxwell next to the Major and Integra as the best example of a person maintaining their self without going batshit crazy but these are the most recognizable examples for a short post like this)
