Here are the prompts for Hen Wilson Week 2026. Much like last year, there are three prompts per day, all following a certain theme. You can use only one prompt as inspiration, or you can combine them in whatever way you want. She feels hot tears pricking at her eyes as Karen gently wheels her to the elevator now that she's been cleared. But it doesn't matter. She's going to be back here soon, because they need answers. Right now, all they have is pain and questions.

Hen is a proud woman. She knows that there is a lot riding on her performance because of who she is. So, it's fucking embarrassing to be in this hospital in this wheelchair. She feels hot tears pricking at her eyes as Karen gently wheels her to the elevator now that she's been cleared. But it doesn't matter. She's going to be back here soon, because they need answers. Right now, all they have is pain and questions.

"I can hear your thoughts," Karen says, a hint of a smile in her tone, stopping the wheelchair in the center of the elevator.

"No, you can't," Hen snaps, and immediately regrets it. But she's so tired and she's in pain and she hates this.

She cranes her head up to look at her wife perched behind her. Karen, despite Hen putting her foot in her mouth, has soft eyes for her.

"I love you," she says, gently, a hand coming down to rest on Hen's shoulder. "I know this sucks. It really sucks. But I need you to remember that I love you."

Hen lets a tear slip down her face. She has no way of knowing if this will get better or worse, if she's going to leave her kids motherless and her wife a widow. She's fucking scared, the feeling of it running cold through her core and out into her extremities.

"I know," she whispers back, swallowing thickly over the phlegm building up. "I love you so much. I don't want to leave you."

"You won't," Karen promises fiercely, squeezing down on Hen's shoulder. "Not yet."

Hen wants to argue, to yell that Karen can't possibly know that. And not that it isn't…an issue for Hen on a daily basis just by the sheer nature of her job. But it's a possibility for everyone every day. She just really, really doesn't want this to be the stupid fucking thing that brings her down after everything in her life.

"We're gonna figure this thing out," Karen assures, leaning down to kiss the top of Hen's head. "Together."

Hen reaches up both arms behind her to loop them around Karen's center, relishing her warmth against her. It doesn't fix everything, but it is a soothing balm on her frayed nerves.

The specter of her friendships, her job, a diagnosis, all loom over her. But in this moment, the love of her life is in her arms and she gets to go home.
