Little Italy Will Not Be Erased Shirt - A Proud Declaration of New York's Italian Heritage
The Little Italy Will Not Be Erased Shirt is a proud declaration that history, culture, and community deserve to be fiercely remembered. The striking artwork immediately commands attention with a centered historic Mulberry Street sign marked with 1870, representing the era when Italian immigrants shaped Lower Manhattan. Behind it stretches the vibrant tricolor flag alongside silhouettes of churches and the iconic New York City skyline.
This design serves as a powerful response to recent public discussions surrounding official maps that omitted the neighborhood. Complete with the official emblem of the Italian American Civil Rights League, the Little Italy Will Not Be Erased Shirt acts as a lasting symbol of identity and perseverance. It reminds future generations that cultural heritage should never disappear from public memory.
Dad: A son’s first hero. A daughter’s first love.
Dad: A son’s first hero. A daughter’s first love. The fathers in my family are called Dad, Daddy, and Papi. Newsflash: None are perfect! But each one represents love, courage, provision, and strength. Their eyes glow with purpose. Their smiles melt hearts. Their chest swells with pride. Their callous hands protect. This is more a self portrait in essence than function because I can’t. Fucking. Draw.... But anyways. I have great love for my heritage, both from the Emerald Isle and Tsalagi nation.
I have an answer as to why some people start talking about what countries their family is from. Yeah, some may do it to show off, but there's a few of us who just want to show some pride in our roots. Take me for example, on me momma's side we can trace her family to German, English, and Czechoslovakian. (I don't know how how that goes now since they divided but...yeah.) On my dad's side, all I got out of him was English and Scotch-Irish, maybe a bit of German too. Anything else is literally a white mystery airhead.
I can tell you though that I'm 100% American and 100% Kick-your-ass Texan.
This is just my little personal opinion though.
Have a nice day. :)
i'm going to the gym for the first time in a year and this would be a monumental event except i'm only going so that i can watch the mexico/brazil game on a bigger screen than my laptop
if youre rooting for brazil....we can be friends again after this match is over :)
My dad has one of his Irish CDs on in the kitchen. He's also playing the bodhrán-- I don't think I've seen him play that thing in years! It's such a wonderful sound to me. I love that deep, fast rolling beat punctuated with clacks, but more importantly, I love it because it reminds me of when I was small, when my dad used to put on these same reels and ballads and jigs when he'd make us pancakes on a Sunday morning.
