i'm sure we must have covered it in real econ (which i took two years ago). this is for the economic history of the US prior to the civil war, so i don't think it's come up yet. it's been a lot of ~comparative advantage and regional specialization~ and ~economic interpretation of the ratification of the constitution~ and ~economies of scale in the south~ and ~westward expansion and fertility/demographics~ and ~1800s gov wasn't laissez-faire at the state-level really~
it's all pretty interesting, but it doesn't really delve into details too much
