Happy Ending for the Children of Húrin (because they deserve it the most)
But what if Túrin killed Tuor at Eithel Ivrin? I mean it doesn’t hurt to hc especially that afterwards Túrin would take a break from that pain in the ass spell he was under, suddenly deciding to wear Tuor’s armor -the very same Turgon left behind- simply because he was feeling cold and then immediately feel the curse wear off. Now Voronwë seeing no other choice left decides to take Túrin with him to Gondolin it might also be because Túrin tortures him. So now they embark Gondolin-wards together, and all the way Voronwë would plead for Túrin to behave himself cause things can get intense once they arrive at the gates, but Túrin would only ignore him by sparing one of his death glares. That is the way until they are greeted by Ecthelion, and he reminds Túrin so much of Beleg and they can’t help but to fall for eachother (yes it’s both ways). Then since by Gondolin’s policy once you’re in you cannot leave by which Ecthelion is releaved, Túrin offers the king his service and after seeing his daughter he remembers his little sister Lalaith, and volunteers to guard her with his life (not to mention he finally is more than over being homesick). Now with Tuor out of the picture, Idril is concerned about Maeglin, but Túrin would also take care of that his old fashioned way. And when Ecthelion catches him in the act he says it’s the right thing and begs him not to hate him. He accepts, cause he just didn’t like that boy since the very first day and together they push him off the cliff. That done, they spend a steamy evening together on which seems to both of them the top of the world.
Now Nienor finds her way safely in the woods, and ends up marrying brandir after she is taken to brethil. They even have twins, and the single remaining problem would be that she never recovers the ability to speak.
With Maeglin dead the threat is forever gone -almost, since Húrin still calls upon them once he is freed- but even now Turgon would seek Túrin and leave the decision up to him, because afterall it is his father. And for the first time Túrin feels content, and complete, and more than anything else he feels at home. His respond is a no, and he justifies his reason because he does not want to repeat the mistake he made with Beleg. He now has more than he could dream of, and he would not risk it to bring Ecthelion to harm, be it his father. Turgon understands his cause of course he does it’s what he wanted to hear , so he promises Túrin that such matters would be taken care of and he need not be troubled no more.
Bright side: This way Gondolin remains unhurt and forever hidden because no one would give it away to Morgoth, and Túrin gets to live happily ever after until the end of his days besides his love.
