The reason I didn't really like the finale of himym is the thought that ted never got over robin, even in the years while being with Tracy. I had this whole idea of ted's true love and now it just seems so rushed in the last 3 mins of the episode. Like we just find out she's passed and then learn that ted wants to get with robin!! I SAW A POST ABOUT HOW AWFUL THE COMMENTS ON THE FINALE YOUTUBE VIDEO ARE, SO I WENT TO CHECK IT OUT.

AND THEN I COME ACROSS THIS LITTLE SON OF A BITCH.

LIKE I KNOW THIS POST IS RANDOM BUT THIS IS ONE OF THE MOST UNNECESSARY, STUPID AND SEXIST COMMENTS I'VE EVER SEEN. THESE PEOPLE DO NOT DESERVE TO EVEN WATCH THIS SHOW OR WITNESS COBIE'S INCOMPARABLE BEAUTY.

HOW DOES ANYONE ACTUALLY CALL ROBIN A SLUT WHEN HER HUSBAND HAS SLEPT WITH AROUND 300 WOMEN????????

AND THEN THIS

SURE TED MAY BE HAPPY BECAUSE NOW THAT HIS WIFE IS DEAD HE GETS TO BE WITH THE GIRL HE WAS OBSESSED WITH BEFOREHAND WHO WILL NEVER LOVE HIM LIKE HE LOVES HER, BUT WHAT ABOUT ROBIN'S HAPPINESS? WHAT ABOUT BARNEY'S? WHAT ABOUT LILY'S? (SHE GOT SCREWED OVER AS WELL IN MY OPINION)

AH YES MY DREAM HAS ALWAYS BEEN TO SEE MY FAVE CHARACTER DEPRESSED ENOUGH THAT HE FEELS THE NEED TO BANG 30 STRANGERS OVER THE COURSE OF A MONTH TO TRY AND BURY HIS FEELINGS FOR THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE.

I DON'T EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE DID WRONG LIKE SHE'S NOT PERFECT BUT WHAT THE DAMN HELL??? OF ALL THINGS ROBIN DESERVES, BEING ALONE IS NOT ONE OF THEM. SHE DESERVES TO BE HAPPY AND TO HAVE FRIENDS WHO LOVE HER AS MUCH AS SHE LOVES THEM. SHE DESERVES TO HAVE A CAREER AND A MARRIAGE INSTEAD OF BEING FORCED TO CHOOSE. THAT'S WHAT SHE DESERVES.

but imagine what we could've had:

barney and robin happily married and traveling the world together (robin actually being happy with her job) without kids bc thats not what either of them want or need and each other is enough for them

lily being a successful art consultant with more clients than just the captain, marshall being a judge and marvin being their only kid or at least him and daisy bc lily could barely handle one kid let alone three

ted and the mother exactly how they are in the finale and her being healthy but if she had to die maybe we could know how?? or have some grieving?? idk just a thought

and then the end being the scene where he meets her and ted going "and that kids, is how i met your mother" and thEN IT ENDS AND THE CHARACTERS ARE THE SAME AND IT ALL MAKES SOME GODDAMN SENSE AND THE FANS ARE ACTUALLY HAPPY

(2/2) to be so perfect for each other in every way possible. We see Ted as this very emotional character throughout the series and though six years is a good amount of time, it really wouldn't have been enough for Ted to just move on from THE ONE.

Really the bare fact that they kill the mother off doesn't bother me. No it's just that they gave her a good five minutes of screentime and about ten seconds stating she died. Nothing else, not even in the millions of time jumps we see her like a third of the time. Their relationship which this entire series was building up to was crammed into like what 15 minutes- when the whole thing deserved at least a few episodes. No one was shown mourning her death. They built up Barney and Robin- all their struggle and change and tears- to become these better people capable of a functional marriage. And it would have been great, they're realistic, they're not perfect for each other, they would have had issues to work out in the future, but it would have been just as realistic that they put effort into their marriage and have it work. Realism is not always and does not have to be bitter. Instead what we get is characters that are doomed to fall back on their old habits, old toxic habits that have screwed them up horribly multiple times in the past. The show was far from perfect yeah, but it was built up to a perfect closure with its themes of change, acceptance, moving on, and the finale gave us the exact opposite. This isn't even mentioning that Marshall and Lily were more-or-less sidelined, when this ending should have been just as much about them as the other three. Lily especially, at least Marshall ran into career issues, she gets dumped as a stay-at-home mom with three kids with no mention of her beloved art career or any word or thought from her about it otherwise

I'm sorry I know some people really don't like HIMYM it was problematic and straight up gross at times but I did I liked it, the characters showed such beautiful development and every serious moment was relatable and real and painful

so I'm not gonna stop being angry about that finale
