People are always left wondering as to why the gods have blessed Asuras with boons and wishes, they are always asking “Why did they choose to let them have what they wanted even when they knew their lack of dharma?”. These are valid points but we miss one small thing— the law of Karma. It is absolute.

The asuras and rakshasa got boons cuz they did the penance/Tapasya to get it. The gods do not discriminate amongst the doers, if you are good or bad it doesn’t matter as long as you do the deed. They got rewarded for their hardwork. The scriptures are trying to teach us through their examples that it doesn’t matter what you think of yourself or what others do, the law of karma is indiscriminate and consequential and even the gods are bound by it.

And then the same gods unite to eliminate the very evil they blessed when it acts negatively and uses the rewards to harm. That fruit of their karma eventually manifests in the form of their annihilation at the hands of divinity.

No one escapes action. This is what the Gita tells us.

When did Hindus become so insecure? I just watched a video where a group of people were hitting a Christian woman and forcing her to say "Jai Shree Ram." Before you think I’m against Hindus, know that I’m a Hindu too. Many of the people who loudly shout "Jai Shree Ram" likely haven’t even read a single Veda in their entire life. I may not know much about the Vedas either, but I do know this: if they had read even one verse of the Bhagavad Gita, they would never insult or harm someone for following a different religion.

Quick question: What are the Ashwins supposed to be the Gods of? According to the Vedas? There is so little information about them I could find.

Ashvins are commonly heralded as the physician gods of medicine. They are also heralded as "the best of charioteers" and solar deities, being the sons of Surya. They are sometimes called the Sun and Moon (very Mitra-Varuna coded). Their chariot is apparently a "three-columned triangular car", so a trichariot, per se.

They are very much golden retriever coded, and are friends with Ushas, so much so that they are asked to be worshipped together with her.

Clearing a common misconception

So the Ramayan brothers -

Ram, Laxman, Bharat and Shatrughan; are called in this order cuz of their importance in the story. Ram, the hero, Laxman, his companion, Bharat, who chased his brothers and begged them to return and Shatrughan who literally had 0.0001 seconds in the whole story.

But most people think this is also the order of their ages. Eldest Ram, then Laxman, then Bharat and the youngest Shatrughan. BUT THAT IS SO NOT TRUE!

Their order:

First queen, Kaushalya gave birth to eldest Ram.

Second queen, Kaikeyi gave birth to second Bharat.

Third queen, Sumitra gave birth to the twins Laxman and Shatrughan, the youngest brothers.

But Laxman was closer to Ram while Shatrughan was closer to Bharat.

In scriptures it's said, the twins were actually "devotees" of their favorite elder brother. They worshipped them.

So for that reason, the order goes like

Ram, Laxman, Bharat, Shatrughan.

But the real order is

Ram, Bharat, Laxman, Shatrughan.

Narada Bhakti Sutras:

1. Now, therefore, we shall expound the religion of Divine Love.

2. That, truly, is of the nature of the supreme Love of God.

3. And in its own intrinsic nature, Divine Love is nothing less than the immortal bliss of freedom (Mukti) itself, which comes unsolicited by the grace of God and by self-sacrifice.

4. Gaining that, man realizes his perfection and divinity and becomes thoroughly contented.

6. Realizing that, man becomes intoxicated and fascinated, as it were, because he is completely immersed in the enjoyment of the Bliss of the Atman, the truest and highest self.

84. Whosoever amongst us believes in this auspicious Gospel of Narada and has faith in it, becomes a lover of God, and attains the highest Beatitude and Goal of life.

The word "Nara " means knowledge useful to humanity and "Da" means a giver, so Narada means the one who gives useful knowledge to mankind and guides humanity to the right path. Narada Muni is a divine sage from the Hindu tradition, who plays a prominent role in a number of the Puranic texts, especially in the Bhagavata Purana and in the Ramayana. Narada is portrayed as a traveling monk with the ability to visit distant worlds, planets, and lokas. He uses the Veena to accompany the singing of hymns, prayers and mantras as an act of devotion to God.
