✨💀Draco Malfoy💀✨

It was time for the next phase. It took me a week to try and figure out what I wanted Draco to look like. I have seen fan art of him for years and I always think, and don’t shoot me for saying it, it’s not really Draco… 🫣

This is someone who grew up being incredibly spoiled and entitled, who thinks the world should revolve around him and is appalled when it doesn’t. I truly believe he is capable of redemption after the second wizarding war, but before that he is not a good person. I grew up in a city with a big university where a lot of stuck up rich boys go to college and I wanted Draco to resemble them a little. With their aristocratic haircuts and the whole ‘sticking your nose up in the air because you’re above all these peasants’ attitude.

So, here is my version of Draco Malfoy; mommy’s boy with daddy issues, but he does look good in his tailored clothes :) And I can totally see him turned into a ferret with his pointed face.

I also read a post a while ago that mentioned Draco is actually very good at school and has a flair for drama and creativity, which I totally agree with. All his iconic moments in the books just scream drama queen! I mean, he wrote a song for the entire Slytherin house to sing and he acted out Harry’s fainting fits for his friends... He could have a career in the arts, for all we know.

I wanted to incorporate that a little bit in this illustration; the attitude✨

🥀💀 Bellatrix Black 💀🥀

There she is, the Mistress of Evil :) She scares me so much. I wanted to share a few thoughts on young Bellatrix. She’s rough around the edges, she has a blatant dark side and she’s not scared of anything, which makes her reckless.

In contrast to her sisters, Bellatrix is not afraid to show her sharp edges. She doesn’t care about being liked and she likes to shock people. Her views on the Wizarding World are extreme, like her parents, and her loyalty to the Dark Arts and the Dark Lord runs deep. I feel like she would be good at mind games and psyching people out, alongside having a talent for curses and violence. I look forward to drawing her adult self, to see what damage Azkaban has done to her :)

I put the sketches here again, to compare them with the end result. I’m glad I took the time to sketch out some outfit ideas. Bellatrix’s style is so specific and bold, I needed to practice :)

🦎Newt Scamander 🐢

I wanted to step away from my teachers series for a little bit to draw Newt :) I didn’t have any written text (from the books) to work with, so I took inspiration from the films. I adore Eddie Redmane as Newt, he did such a terrific job. I wanted to draw my own version of him, but took inspiration from Eddie and the costume design from the FB films.

I wanted to capture the moment when Newt was still quite young. Fresh out of Hogwarts, scribbling in a battered notebook that would later become Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them 🐉🦚🪶🍃

This also gave me the opportunity to draw some magic creatures! I love those little guys :)🧡✨

Dean Thomas, the man. I loved drawing him, he gave me all the right feels. And I don’t want to make too big a statement, but… I feel like he’s giving bi vibes. Thoughts? 🌌⚡️⭐️

🌱 Professor Sprout 🌱

Head of Hufflepuff House, she teaches Herbology and she looks like you could have a nice chat with her in the corridors. I like her a lot!

Professor Sprout was super fun to draw, she’s got so much personality and I got to play with her wardrobe a lot. I felt like she’d wear lots of earthy tones, like the plants she works with. Nothing flashy to scare her babies. She’s a tough plant mum, that’s for sure!

🌌 Blaise Zabini 🌌

In Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince Harry said he thought Blaise was a very handsome guy. That was pretty much enough for me to work with :) He was also described as a bit of a loner, preferring to keep to himself. I figured he’d be a mysterious guy, that many wonder about. Stories go around about his mother and her many deceased husbands… You’d either love this guy or be a bit uncomfortable because of him :)
