Part of me wants to hate Yoojung Sunbae but then I see scenes like this and I can’t

Rating: ★★★✩✩

This university drama got me all sorts of confused at first because I didn’t truly understand the plot until around episode 12 when they give you the back story to why Sunbae hates Baek In Ho. But I continued to push on with the drama and I truly think it has a good message/lesson for its viewers. Although I am a bit confused about the ending. (I’ll talk about it after showing some of the scenes that really stuck with me).

Let’s dive into a couple of my favorite scenes from the drama: 

1) When Hong Hoobae finally sees Sunbae for who he is: 

He tells her that he was scared she would leave him after she saw the real him... but instead, she liked him more because he was honest with her. This moment in the drama for me as a real turning point. Mostly because before this I didn’t really understand the motivation behind all the things Sunbae did for Hong Hoobae. But after he explains why he is the way he is (no spoilers for you!!), my heart started to waver and eventually he won over my heart. 

2) Baek In Ho’s humor:

The fact that he calls Hong Seol “Dog Fur” because of her hair and makes fun of her small eyes kills me every time. To the regular girl, they might take it as an insult but their relationship is so close that she does not mind. She also didn’t mind in the beginning when they first met, but that could’ve been just because she was comfortable with who she was. WHICH reminds me... Kim Go Eun barely wears makeup in her dramas which is something I live for because damnnnnn that takes a lot of confidence. 

3) The Fact That Both of Them Are So Protective of her: 

CAN SOMEONE BE THERE FOR ME LIKE THIS? I don’t even need two people... just one (crying face). 

4) Eun Taek and Bo Ra’s relationship <3

I love that Eun Taek was so persistent-- even when he didn’t know if Bo-Ra liked him back. But he always kept his love for her at a distance.. not like the creepy stalker that liked Hong Seol. 

Anyways, I LOVE THAT THEY’RE STILL TOGETHER IN THE END. My heart jumped when I saw her at her clothing store and Eun Taek was trying to scan her with the scanner. They’re too cute (or maybe I just love Nam Joo Hyuk a lot) hahahaha. 

But now let’s talk about the ending. I can’t read Korean and therefore at the end of episode 16 when they show her emails, I’m not too sure what it says. However, I read a recap on dramabean and it said that she was checking her unread emails. So.... is she checking emails that she’s written to Sunbae and he finally opened them? Or is the other way around.. because her mom called her for dinner so technically how could she open the email? I’M CONFUSED. If anyone can provide clarity for me that would be very much appreciated. Anywho, I wished the ending was different. I wish they would’ve shown them getting back together because I truly thought that although they haven’t been together in 3 years, that they were meant to be together.
