Quick notes on games I've actually finished on Steam since June is a short one:

Sudocats: Sudoku, but with cats. Cute, short, not particularly hard but satisfying

A Building Full of Cats: Hidden object, but with cats. Cute, short, etc.

Hook 2: Another random minimalist puzzle game. Not knowing anything about it going into it was excellent because I had no idea what the main gimmick was that they changed from the first game, which was a great surprise

Jewel Match Solitaire Winterscapes: It's more Jewel Match Solitaire, except this time there's snow and really annoying Christmas Muzak

Headcanon that OG Hook stopped painting and drawing years ago, didn't even doodle when he was bored or something.

Wish Hook had stopped as well, but as he had lots of time to spend in the tower alone when Alice was sleeping and all the chores had been done, he picked up painting again and by the time Alice could draw he'd practiced enough for her to use his paintings as a reference.

And now that they all live in Storybrooke, Wish Hook inspires OG Hook to start painting again, and gives him a bit of advice on starting again and they end up spending lots of evenings together painting :)

Hook 2

They rushed with the game, missing the chance to call the third one Hook 3D. It’s a simple order of operations puzzle game, but it’s now in 3D, so you need rotate things. The gameplay combines tracing labyrinths and perspective play. It’s a bit annoying when the camera forcible changes the perspective. The erotic sounds of rain sounds are a bit annoying. I hate rain, it’s wet, and cold, and it…

Recently Completed: Hook 2 (PC)

This is a calming, minimalist puzzle game about meticulously dismantling things. You can imagine that it's a bomb, or a complicated lock, if you like. The large dots in the screenshot above are clickable (in the game; not here, sadly). Clicking one will cause whatever it's connected to to retract. If it retracts cleanly it disappears. If it hits something, it doesn't. Make a few mistakes and the level starts over.

I've replayed the first game a few times and had no idea the developer was making a sequel until the day it released. The sequel adds a few new twists to the formula, the biggest of all being...THE THIRD DIMENSION! Yes, the puzzles can be rotated, and since there's no outlines or depth cues, you'll have to turn it this way and that before deciding which is the next right button to click.

These games are relatively short but cheap and extremely satisfying. Play them! Play them both!!
