Some Vintage Art! The original ideas for Moon and Sapphirine were more Pirate and her Minion, but I like Suave Moon and Manic Vee much better! And a peek at their planned fusion, which may get a redesign in the future~

Monk Weapons: Hook Swords
Shuang gou in Chinese.
Hook swords are another Shaolin special. They are exactly as they sound like, and more - used in pairs, they resemble swords that curve at the end into hooks and also feature a hand guard. One of their most popular users is Jet from Avatar the Last Airbender, which is a flawless work of fiction. Cleverly, in AtLA they serve to push the boundaries of family-friendly combat, letting Jet defeat foes using his weapons with real martial arts... and not killing any of them on screen. This does not mean these weapons cannot be used to kill - just that their applications are so versatile that they do a lot more than stab. Like the last weapon I promoted they really shine for the many options they give you. They’re absolutely covered in attacking edges! (And your chance of stabbing yourself with them is low, too!) The hooks work to catch and trap and drag enemy weapons and limbs, the backs of the hooks are sharpened to act as... swords, the guards are also blades, and the pommels are spikes. So the butt spikes and guards work in the kinds of extreme short ranges of daggers and brass knuckles, the rest of the weapon is like a one-handed sword, and, the real kicker is that if you connect the two hooks you have what amounts to an axe on a chain with double the reach! The disadvantages are that first of all, they aren’t long swords, and the lack of a thrusting tip exasperates this. A clever foe with a jian, rapier or longsword will probably try to keep their distance and poke you to death since you can’t return the favor. When linking the weapons to swing at range, keep in mind they aren’t attached attached and you can lose one if something goes wrong. Maybe consider that for your natural one rolls. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VPIOBhiuM1Y
