SPOILER ALERT: for season 4 of Agents of SHIELD
On my latest rewatch of Agents of SHIELD right now and I’m at the part where the ghost rider has taken over Mack (s4,ep7 deal with our devils) and he’s talking to Robbie Reyes.
How have I rewatched this show so many times and only just noticed that when the ghost rider says “he lost hope” he isn’t talking about hope, the feeling. He’s talking about Hope, his daughter.

AoS season 4 edit! Watching this season for the first time ever with all of the stuff going on in the world right now was genuinely like a terrifying experience bc none of this is far fetched at all.............. this is literally just what ICE is doing every day in the US. I love this damn show and I cried very very muchly when I saw what they did to my boy Fitz and what they did to Mack & Hope 💔
Mackelena moment that almost had me cry:

Mack: Spanish was mandatory at Hope’s school.

also unfair that Mack has to deal with his grief like this. He was in the framework the longest (other than May obviously) and he barely got out before they were all sent to the future. This is all like IMMEDIATLY after he lost Hope, and as we know from season seven, Mack does not deal well with grief. It’s just so sad, but it’s so nice to see Yoyo being there for him and comforting him, and reminding him to make space for himself to grieve healthily. (Or as healthily as you can in a dystopian apocalyptic hellscape 70 years in the future.)
