currently thinking about jace with an alys rivers type figure in his life... like she’s a little fucked up and evil and probably doesn’t have his best interests at heart, but by god if those smitten big dumb puppy dog eyes don’t get to her every now and then

stop this is everything nonnie!!! setting the scene: reader would have been captured by team black, (she’s important enough for them not to kill her) but she’s opposed to them enough that her freedoms are limited. enter jace, angry at the world and more importantly—her.

she, who cuts through every pretense he’s accustomed to like the steel of a sword. he’ll tell her to her face that he hates her, that she’s vile for aligning with the greens. a part of him truly does believe himself, but a greater part of him yearns for her. jace is a dragonrider so it’s not surprise if he’s drawn to her fiery nature…no matter how much he tries to convince himself that he’s not. he wants to be enveloped by her flames, to bleed out from the sharp words that fall from her tongue. he’d eventually convince himself that her willful mind will turn, that she might reposition all of her vitriol towards his enemies.

i don’t see jace trying to change who she is, just who obtains her disapproval. and all of this would eventually effect her, not change her. she thinks he looks no better than when his brows are drawn up, eyes narrowed, and distaste for her as evident as the first light of morn.

he feels and sees her unlike anyone else. he doesn’t hide from the fact she’s unnerving and that, above all else, intrigues her.
