Space To Rest

Drabble for @heroesspirit Monthly prompt 23: Space and Sky

Twilight pointed straight up. “That one looks like a horse.”

Eras smiled and nodded, though he knew Twilight wouldn’t see. Twilight was too focused on finding an animal shape in every cloud.

Eras was trying to force himself to relax. Sitting still and just being, with nothing else to do, didn't come naturally. After so many years in the military, and so many before that just trying to survive, his mind couldn’t shut itself down.

Rest was a skill Eras was still cultivating. Moments like these, with a beautiful man lying by his side, reminded him why it was important.
