11 Questions (or rather, twenty-two)

I was tagged to to this by the wonderful @cupcakeblake and @prongsno thank you lovelies 💛 (also since I’m answering 22 questions this is going to be under a cut)

1. What’s your to-go movie when you’re feeling down? 

Probably "Clueless", to be honest. It's either that, "Prisoner of Azkaban" or "She's The Man" 

2. What country do you wish you could live in? (not just go on vacations but actually live in) 

There's really no way of knowing for /certain because I've either only vacationed in these or never been that at all, but I think either London, Paris or Toronto. Though since I’ve recently been to france, even though I can’t speak a word of french, that’s what I’m feeling the most atm.

3. Is there a artist/band that could just do no wrong for you when you listen to their music? 

Shawn Mendes. I hardly think this comes as a surprise lmao. (but not only when it comes to music, this is an 18 year old boy who has taught me and helped me so much and i’m-)

4. What are your top 3 tropes for fanfics? 

shit ok UM. Fake dating, texting/social media or university!au. but then again, bed sharing is also a thing

5. Where do you see yourself in 5 years? 

In university (hopefully I'll be starting med school in October (?)), and I'd like to be in a loving and caring relationship but knowing my luck that's probably not going to happen so yea 

6. What would you choose as a superpower? 

I never know how to answer this question, so I'd probably go with invisibility because that's just how basic I am. Either that or teleportation. though i did read a funny text post about having the power to refill things and that got me thinking

7. What do you like the most: read or write? 

I love writing, but reading. 

8. What’s your fav quote? 

This is something that changes very frequently, so here's three of my favourites:

9. One word that describe you the best. 

Clumsy. You don't understAND I'm ALWAYS falling and tripping everywhere and knocking things over and so my legs and hips are constantly bruised because I'm a huge clutz. 

10. What’s the one TV universe that you would most like to live in? 

I honestly have no clue since I barely watch TV anymore, and the shows I watch aren't exactly set in /pleasant universes so.. I guess I'll leave it at that. 

11. One of these Must Go: fanart, fanfic, fanvids 

Fanvids, for sure. Which is kinda sad since I used to do fanvids but like. I can't live without fic and fanart is too damn pretty 

12. how many fruits and veg have u eaten today?

I had a plum?? Also I had coconut chips does that count?

I don’t really know? It’s not something I’ve given much thought. There was a time where it was sunflowers because of Lily’s dress in TLAT, but now it’s either roses or tiger lilyes, I think. Peonies are pretty too

i should be writing: an autobiography

i know that I’m probably (definitely) late with this, but I made a resolution to focus on the positives this year (as well as trying to have a generally healthier lifestyle which is gonna fail but wtv) and so I feel like it needs to be said.

2016 was an awful year for a lot of people, and an even worse year in the grand scheme of things, but I have to admit that for me, 2016 was above all else, a year of immense growth. I don’t think I’ve grown this much since I was “dumped” by my childhood best friend when I was 12, and then proceeded to enter a vicious cycle of letting him fuck me over for the next three or so years.

this year (last, actually, but I’m still getting used to writing 2017 at the end of the date), I accomplished much more than I thought I could, I hit new lows, but amazing highs, and so, for the sake of optimism, I feel like I need to write it all out.

I’ve mentioned this before, but in 2016 I fell in love. I allowed myself to fall in love, which I wouldn’t have before. thankfully, it didn't end in heartbreak. in 2016, I wrote sixty-thousand words, which isn’t much for some people, but a huge deal for me.

2016 was he year when my anxiety got significantly better. I’m finally on proper medication, and have been since the beginning of may, and it has helped tremendously. the panic attacks are fewer than they’ve ever been. I tried to push myself out of my comfort zone, and I feel like I’ve finally learned to put my health above my grades - which thankfully, has only affected them for the positive.

In 2016, I found the best friend group I could have asked for, and I finally ditched toxic friendships. Sometimes, not everything went to plan, but it was in 2016 that I started not caring about other people’s opinion of me.

It was, especially in the past three months, that I suffered a huge change in the way I see things, and life in general. I’ve accepted that with growing up comes change, and that it isn’t a bad thing. in 2016 I learned not to fear my mistakes, but to learn from them. In 2016, I was significantly kinder and finally dropped (I hope) my ‘angsty teen attitude’. 

I found my role models. The changes I went through this past year were in many ways, shaped by them. I’ve opened my heart, to new people, new places and new opportunities.  My self-esteem reached new highs. I can now say I’m comfortable in my own skin, confident, even, which 15 year old me would have never believed to be possible. I’ve allowed myself to feel vulnerable. 

One of the things that helped me the most, was this:

“You don't have to pretend that it's easy all the time, you just let it go and, and grow with it. And you can't hold on to the old you, or the old this, or the old that, because you know you change. And it's not changing in a bad way, it's just changing, because that's what happens in life; You grow up, everyone moves on, you're just learning, you stay true to yourself. Changing isn't a bad thing, it never was. But at the end of the day, you know, you're the same person, and, and where your heart is, that doesn't change.” 

I also want to give a shout-out to some of the best friends I’ve made on this website, who make me so incredibly happy and have helped me in more ways than they can imagine. Kristina, Grace, Nai, Chloe, Cindy, Linds, Ellie, Mariana, Charlotte, Vikki, Camille, a huge thank you. (I probably forgot a lot of people, and I’m very sorry about that. I still love you.)
