Because, apparently, SOME PEOPLE need a REMINDER!
Let’s not send hate to real people…??? It’s really that easy???
I know this is mostly happening on twitter and Instagram but I don’t have an HR account on those platforms so this is going here.
can someone please write a fic where Ilya takes Shane through his curly hair routine but make it really sweet and intimate. Like Shane is washing Ilya's hair and Ilya cant help but just stare at shanes face and stealing kisses every now and them - then they sit on the floor of their bedroom infront of a mirror with all of Ilyas products lined up infront of them and Shane carefully towel dries his hair whilst talking about all the research he did on ilyas hair type, and Ilyas explaining his trials and errors when discovering different products. Then they just enjoy each others company yk? like shanes actually enjoying finger curling and is living his best life making sure that all products are evenly distributed and then Ilya decides to be a menace when the diffuser comes out or smth and keep moving so Shane crawls onto his lap so he can do it properly and then Ilyas just beaming with happiness and saying something cheeky like " Ah Hollander how did you know my hairdressers method" or smth like that.
also just for fun maybe with all his research Shane buys Ilya a Bonnet because he read it helps reduce frizz but then Ilya wear it and they both laugh at how funny it looks ( Bonus points if its purple ) and then they take it off and Shane just buys a silk pillowcase instead
again another part could be Shane doing this whilst Ilya is drunk or smth idk - or a parallel of them doing this when they're in there 30's and then another chapter could be them in their 60's ( i refuse to imagine bald Ilya)
idk I just loved the idea of Domestic Hollanov - like just quiet small talk and non sexual intimacy and also imagine if Shane asks if Ilyas ever let anyone else do his hair and he's like yes Svetlana helped me once but he didn't like it, but the last person who did his hair in a way that made him feel so happy, loved and small in the best way was his mum, and now Shane basically always does his hair routine except for when they're apart and it happens so infrequently that now Ilya forgets the order of things sometimes and has to FaceTime Shane
ps guys pls I need this🙏🙏
also lowkey does anyone have any fic recs?
Shane Hollander getting a concussion and all of his reservations, shame, and desire for privacy go out of the window. His impulsivity is way up. (Lets assume this is after the centaurs win like 2 cups and everyone is happy even if they only make it to the playoffs)
The second Shane wakes up he starts causing problems. He acts more like Hudson but even more resistant to authority. He will NOT listen to anyone other than Ilya and even then its tentative. He makes dirty jokes constantly. He flirts with the doctors and nurses (and Ilya...but that flirting is more so sexual harassment)
The doctors tell Ilya and Shane's parents that it might take a month or two for Shane to recover.
It soon becomes obvious that Shane cannot be at his parent's house on the account of his many complaints that he can't 1. Get railed. 2. Get railed. and 3. Rail himself.
Shane has not been cleared for any intense activity...Ilya cannot do anything about it and has to placate his husband over the phone while he gets ready for a game. Shane is complaining loud enough for Bood and Wyatt to overhear.
"Babbbyyyyyyy! It's not fucking fair that you get to skate and im stuck at home with doctors orders not to stick anything up my ass! Im so fucking bored!"
Ilya can hear Yuna awkwardly laughing in the background. It has been this way for a week now and all anyone can do is just laugh.
A memorable complaint happened right after Shane was cleared for 'exercise'. As Shane tries to get Ilya to finally take him home for the night and save him from his supervision under his parents - Ilya just keeps on worrying.
"Oh my god Ilya if you are soooooo worried about me falling apart on your dick then Im going to top you intstead"
To Shane's horror Ilya agrees.
"Then drive us home why are you wasting time! Chop Chop pretty boy!"
Secretly Ilya likes that Shane's thoughts are now so loud. He doesn't have to guess anything (even if he got really good at knowing Shane it is still kind of nice to know for certain just how desperate his husband is)
It gets worse when Shane is allowed screentime again because he starts getting into twitter beef with anyone who posts wrong stats and answers rhetorical hockey questions with #factsandlogic.
Shane has to get his phone taken away when he starts stitching people on tictok that complain about his and Ilya's relationship with a lip-sync of him singing " House real big, cars real big. Dick real big, everything real big ".
Ilya has to make a joint statement about the impact of concussions. The drama Shane had started dies down real fast after that.
Within 3 months, with enough neurotherapy , Shane is mostly back to normal. Shane realizes that he can allow himself to be a bit more impulsive on occasion because nothing bad actually happened. Another small positive is that Shane became a lot less embarrassed of PDA in public and with their friends and family. Nothing will ever be as bad as what he overshared in the first few weeks...so kissing his husband or messing with his hair now does not phase him. (He still gets embarrassed when it comes down to the filth that Ilya tells him but that's different)
He also maybe takes more risks with brand deals now - he just does what he likes. He also thinks the one ad he did for a family friend's carpet store (While he was still impaired and snuck out of the house without supervision) was really funny so he continues to spawn up in random local promotions just for fun.

Lara POV:
Three weeks.
It had been three weeks since Paris, and I still hadn't texted her.
Well that wasn't entirely true.
I had texted her. That first night, when she messaged me to say she made it to her hotel safely. We exchanged a few messages back and forth. Short. Easy. Nothing required me to overthink.
And then...nothing
I told myself I'd text her the next day. Then the day after that. Then after our schedules calmed down.
But every time I opened our message thread, my thumbs froze over the keyboard.
Hey, what's up? Too casual.
I was thinking about Paris... Too much.
So I finally looked up Kingdom Hearts , Too desperate.
I groaned, tossing my phone onto the couch cushions like it had personally wronged me.
"You've been staring at that phone for twenty minutes."
I looked up to find Manon standing in the doorway of the living room, water bottle in hand, eyebrow raised.
"I haven't been staring."
"You literally haven't blinked since I walked in."
"I blinked."
"You didn't."
I slumped further into the couch, pulling one of the throw pillows over my face.
"I'm fine."
"You're the opposite of fine." I heard her footsteps cross the room, felt the cushion dip as she sat down next to me. "Is this about Y/N?"
The pillow was yanked off my face before I could protest.
Manon stared down at me, unimpressed.
"You haven't texted her, have you?"
"I texted her in Paris—"
"That was three weeks ago."
"I know," I said, dragging a hand down my face. "I know. I just... I don't know what to say."
Manon tilted her head, studying me like I was a particularly confusing puzzle.
"Lara. She gave you her number. She walked you to your door. She literally asked for your number first."
"That doesn't mean—"
"It means she wants to talk to you."
I sat up, pulling my knees toward my chest.
"But what if I text her and she doesn't respond? Or what if she responds but it's weird now because it's been so long? Or what if—"
"Lara."
I stopped.
Manon's expression had softened, the teasing edge gone.
"Just text her, if anything she's probably doing nothing."
I nod and grab my phone.
Y/N POV:
Lara was coming over.
Which... for some reason felt bigger than it should've.
I'd told myself it was just to play Kingdom Hearts. Nothing serious. Nothing to overthink. Just a game, a chill night, something normal.
Still—
I found myself double-checking everything anyway.
The PS2 was already set up, the familiar startup screen paused on the TV. I had Kingdom Hearts ready to go, controllers untangled for once, one placed neatly on the coffee table for her.
Snacks were laid out nothing too much, just enough. Chips, candy, a couple drinks. Casual.
Normal.
I stepped back for a second, scanning the room.
Clean enough. Good enough.
Before I could think too hard about it—
Ding-dong.
I exhaled quietly, running a hand through my hair as I walked to the door.
Why am I nervous?
It's just Lara.
I opened the door.
And there she was.
For a second, everything else kind of... paused.
She looked softer than I remembered. No stage lights, no cameras just her. Comfortable, a little dressed down, but still effortlessly put together.
"Hey," I said, a small smile forming before I could stop it.
She smiled back, just as soft. "Hi."
There was that same slight nervousness in her voice but it wasn't as strong as before.
I stepped aside, holding the door open. "Come in."
She walked in, glancing around a little as she stepped inside, taking in the space.
"Nice place," she said.
"Thanks," I replied, closing the door behind her. "It's... nothing crazy."
"It's cozy," she added, and I glanced at her for a second.
Cozy.
I nodded slightly. "Yeah. That's the goal."
There was a small pause, not awkward just settling.
Then I gestured toward the living room. "I got everything set up."
Her eyes lit up a little when she saw the TV.
"Oh—wait, you actually have the PS2?"
I let out a quiet laugh. "Yeah. I told you, I'm serious about this."
She walked over, clearly more relaxed now, spotting the controller I left out.
"You really prepared everything," she said, picking it up.
"Of course," I replied, leaning casually against the couch. "Can't have you running into walls again without proper training."
She looked at me, eyes widening slightly before she realized I was joking.
"Wow," she said, narrowing her eyes playfully. "You're not letting that go, are you?"
"Never."
She shook her head, but she was smiling.
"Alright, let's start," I said, handing her the controller.
She took it carefully, like last time still a little unsure, but not as nervous. That was new.
"Okay," she said, glancing between the screen and the buttons, "should I know anything about this besides the Disney characters?"
I let out a small laugh, dropping down onto the couch beside her. "That's what everyone thinks at first."
"So... I'm wrong?" she asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Not completely," I said, reaching for my own controller but not turning it on yet. "Yeah, there's Disney characters. You'll see some familiar faces."
She nodded. "Okay, that's comforting."
"But," I added, leaning back slightly, "that's like... maybe twenty percent of what's going on."
Her expression shifted immediately. "Oh."
"Yeah," I smirked. "The rest is... a lot."
"How a lot are we talking?"
I paused, thinking. "...Confusing timelines, multiple protagonists, memory loss, alternate versions of people—"
"Wait," she turned to look at me fully now. "What?"
I laughed. "Relax. We're starting from the beginning. You'll be fine."
She narrowed her eyes slightly. "That didn't sound reassuring."
"It is. Trust me."
She looked back at the screen, clearly processing. "Okay... so what do I actually do?"
"Alright," I said, leaning a little closer not too much, just enough to point at the screen. "Right now, you're just learning movement and basic combat. Don't overthink it."
She nodded slowly. "Okay..."
I reached over lightly, tapping near the buttons on her controller. "This is how you move. This is your attack. And this—" I paused, glancing at her, "—this is your menu. You'll use that later."
She followed along, her focus immediately locking in.
"Got it... I think."
"We'll see," I said.
She shot me a look. "You're not very encouraging."
"I am," I replied. "I just don't lie."
She huffed softly but smiled anyway.
I started the game, letting the intro roll for a bit before skipping ahead.
"Alright, go ahead," I nodded toward the screen.
She adjusted slightly on the couch, shifting into a more comfortable position as her fingers settled on the controls.
At first—
It was exactly what I expected.
She walked forward.
Stopped.
Turned too far.
Ran into a wall.
I bit back a smile.
"Don't say anything," she warned immediately, eyes still locked on the screen.
"I didn't say anything."
"You were about to."
"I wasn't."
She glanced at me quickly. "...You were."
I shrugged. "Maybe a little."
She shook her head, trying again this time moving a little more carefully.
"Okay... okay..." she murmured, adjusting her movements.
"Better," I said. "Just ease into it."
A small enemy appeared on screen, and she hesitated.
"...Do I fight that?"
"Yeah."
"...Are you sure?"
I laughed softly. "Yes, Lara. Fight it."
"Okay, okay—"
She pressed the attack button a little too fast, missing the timing at first, then tried again—
This time landing it.
"Oh wait," she leaned forward slightly, more focused now. "I did it."
"You did," I said, watching her instead of the screen for a second.
There was something about the way her whole expression changed how quickly she went from unsure to invested.
It was... kind of nice to see.
She didn't notice.
She was too busy figuring out the next move.
"Wait, there's more—what do I do?" she asked quickly.
"Keep going. You're good."
She followed through, pressing the buttons more confidently now, movements still a little clumsy but improving.
"I feel like I'm doing okay," she said.
"You are."
She glanced at me, just for a second. "You're not lying?"
"I said I don't lie."
She studied my face for a moment, like she was trying to decide if she believed me.
Then she smiled small, but real.
"Okay."
There was a pause after that.
Not awkward.
Just... quiet.
The sound of the game filled the room, mixed with the occasional click of buttons and her soft reactions under her breath.
I leaned back slightly, resting my arm along the back of the couch, letting her take the lead.
"You're picking it up fast," I said after a minute.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
She smiled again, a little more confident this time. "Good. I don't want to embarrass myself."
"You're past that point," I said casually.
Her head snapped toward me. "Wow."
I laughed, holding my hands up slightly. "I'm kidding. You're doing fine."
She narrowed her eyes at me but she was still smiling.
And then, without thinking too much about it, she shifted just a little closer.
Not enough to make it obvious.
Just enough that I noticed.
And for some reason—
I didn't move away.
By the time we got to the Wonderland mission, she wasn't even trying to keep distance anymore.
Somewhere between learning the controls and getting comfortable with the mechanics, Lara had shifted closer slowly, naturally until her shoulder was pressed against mine. Now she was fully leaning into me, her head just barely tilted toward my arm while she concentrated on the screen.
I didn't point it out.
I didn't move either.
My hand hovered near hers occasionally, guiding her thumb when she got stuck, pointing out enemies, explaining where to go next. It felt... easy. Like we'd done this a hundred times before.
"This is so fucking cool," she said suddenly, eyes lighting up as the bright, surreal Wonderland environment filled the screen.
The oversized doors, floating objects, and twisting perspective made her lean forward slightly in excitement.
"Right?" I said, smiling without even realizing it.
She moved the character around, testing jumps, laughing quietly when she misjudged one.
"How did you get into this game?" she asked, glancing up at me briefly before focusing back on the screen.
I leaned back slightly, thinking.
"I found it when I was maybe... fifteen, turning sixteen," I said. "I was in a store after filming a movie."
She nodded, listening carefully.
"The third game had just come out," I continued. "And I remember seeing the cover. I didn't even know what it really was I just thought it looked interesting."
"You just picked it up randomly?" she asked.
"Pretty much," I shrugged. "One night I went back and bought all the ones I could find. The PS2 versions, the PS3 ones... everything."
She laughed softly. "All of them at once?"
"Yeah. I went all in."
"And you played them all?"
"Somehow," I said, smiling faintly. "I stayed up way too late. Like... multiple nights in a row. My sleep schedule was completely destroyed."
She tilted her head slightly against my shoulder, still focused on the game. "Worth it?"
"Definitely."
She hummed softly in agreement, guiding the character forward again.
"I like that," she said after a moment.
"Like what?"
"You didn't grow up with it," she said. "You just... found it. And it stuck."
I glanced down at her for a second.
"Yeah," I said quietly. "It just... clicked."
She nodded slowly, then leaned just a little more comfortably against me, like she wasn't even thinking about it anymore.
On screen, her character missed a jump and fell.
"Wait—no—" she laughed quietly.
I reached over, gently adjusting her thumb position. "Try again. Angle it a little more to the left."
"Like this?"
"Yeah."
She jumped again this time landing it.
"Oh!" she whispered excitedly. "Okay, that felt good."
I smiled. "You're getting it."
She glanced up at me, her expression softer now.
"Thanks for showing me this."
"Of course," I replied.
That's when her phone rang.
The sound cut through the quiet of the room, vibrating lightly on the coffee table where she'd set it earlier. Lara shifted slightly, lifting her head from my shoulder just enough to glance at the screen.
"It's Sophia," she said.
She sounded a little torn like she didn't want to break the moment, but also didn't want to ignore it.
"You can answer it," I told her, keeping my voice relaxed.
She hesitated for half a second. "Are you sure?"
"Yeah," I nodded. "Game's not going anywhere."
She smiled softly at that, then carefully paused the game, setting the controller down in her lap before reaching for her phone.
"Hey," she answered quietly, her tone automatically softening.
I leaned back into the couch, giving her space without actually moving away completely. She was still close enough that I could hear parts of the conversation, though she angled slightly away, trying to be polite.
"Yeah, I'm at Y/N's... yeah... we're just playing a game."
There was a pause.
I grabbed a chip from the bowl, pretending not to listen, but I couldn't help catching the faint shift in her voice more animated now.
"No, it's actually really fun... I know, I didn't expect it either."
I smiled to myself, keeping my eyes on the paused screen.
Another pause.
She laughed softly. "No, she's being nice... she's teaching me."
I rubbed the back of my neck, suddenly very interested in the snack selection.
"Yeah, I'll probably head back later... mm-hmm... okay... I'll text you."
She nodded a couple times, even though Sophia couldn't see her.
"Okay, bye."
She hung up, lowering the phone slowly before glancing back at me.
"Sorry," she said, a little sheepish.
"You're good," I replied. "Everything okay?"
"Yeah," she nodded. "She was just checking in. Making sure I didn't get kidnapped or something."
I smirked slightly. "Good to know that's still a concern."
She laughed quietly. "She's protective."
"I get that."
She set her phone back down, then picked up the controller again, but she didn't start playing right away. Instead, she leaned back into her previous spot closer again, almost automatically.
"Okay," she said, settling in. "Where were we?"
"Wonderland," I answered. "And you were about to fall off another platform."
"Wow," she said, nudging me lightly with her shoulder. "You're really holding that against me."
"Always."
She smiled, then unpaused the game, her focus returning to the screen.
We didn't even realize how late it had gotten until the screen dimmed and the room felt quieter than before.
Lara finished the section we were on, setting the controller down with a small, satisfied exhale. "Okay... I think that's a good stopping point before I embarrass myself again."
"You didn't embarrass yourself," I said, though I reached forward to pause the game anyway.
She stretched slightly, glancing toward the window, then back at her phone. Her expression shifted reluctant, almost.
"I should probably head home," she said softly.
There was a small pause.
"Yeah," I replied, standing up. "It's late."
Neither of us moved right away, like we were both adjusting to the idea of the night ending. Then she stood too, smoothing out her clothes like she had when she first arrived.
I walked her to the door, the quiet between us not awkward just slower now.
When I opened it, the cooler night air drifted inside. She stepped into the doorway, turning back toward me.
"Text me when you get home," I said.
She nodded, a small smile forming. "I will."
Then she hesitated for a second, like she was deciding whether to say something else.
"I... I hope we can do this some more," she added, a little shy but sincere.
I nodded immediately. "Don't worry. We will."
Her smile grew just a little at that.
"Okay," she said softly.
She stepped back, starting down the path, then glanced over her shoulder once before heading toward her car.
I watched until she drove off, the quiet settling back into the house.
I closed the door and leaned against it for a second, the quiet settling in again. The living room still looked the same controllers on the couch, snacks half-finished, the game paused right where we left it.
It felt... different now.
I walked back over, picking up the empty soda can she'd used and tossing it in the trash before grabbing my phone off the table. My thumb hovered for a second before I opened the group chat with Hudson and Tyriq.
oooo Lara and y/n getting close kinda.

“Can’t believe we have to wait until 2027 for Heated Rivalry Season 2! Booooo.”
Not only can I believe it, I want it to take at least that long. I would be worried if it didn’t.
I want everyone involved to have a big fat rest after all this madness. I want the season two script to be given as much care an attention as the first season’s was, and then I want there to be appropriate time & resources to schedule the complicated orchestra that is shooting the show, and then I want the whole thing to be filmed and edited in a way where everyone actually gets a good night’s sleep somewhere along the way? Maybe?!?
I want season two to be as good as season one, and I want the people involved not to burn out or hate their lives while making it; so that they keep making it, and making it good, for as long as possible. And I think that’s actually what you want too.
