The first thing Elijah did when he woke up was jumping jacks. Yes, jumping jacks.
Usually he was so tired he couldn’t even stand straight, his legs folding in half in hopes of going back to sleep. But no, not today. Today, Elijah was fired up because of his potential hangout with Matt.
Well, they hangout every day at work (Matt would never call it that) but Matt never said no to his proposal to see the new Superman movie. I mean, he never said yes, but he never said no either. Which left a window of opportunity for Eli to beg Matt’s ear off until he said yes.
Ssaem yelled at him for ‘causing a ruckus’ so early in the morning, but Elijah just shoved Hello Kitty in his arms to get him to stop yelling at him. It obviously worked.
Today, Elijah was a man on a mission. He had his alpha face on. His game face on. His gigachad face on.

“What’s up with the face? Are you constipated from all that chili?”
Elijah blinked out of his haze, looking up to face Matt.
“What?”
“That face. You look like you’re solving two plus two.”
“Hey! That was completely uncalled for! I can solve two plus two, Matt.”
Elijah heard Matt mumble ‘could’ve fooled me’ but he chose to ignore him. He couldn’t have Matt fighting him today (Eli never starts their arguments, Matt just grows defensive too much), after all, Matt would hopefully be the one taking him to the movies today.
All day, Elijah’s been checking his phone to see if the movie is still available. It’s a Wednesday for pete’s sake nobody’s going to the movies on a Wednesday. But Elijah couldn’t help it. He reaaaally wanted to go to the movies with Matt. Not even because he was his crush, but because he just simply wanted to get his cold boss more. He knew a few things already, but not much.
He looked up at Matt and watched him for a little bit, forgetting to do his own set of windows. Gosh, he’s so delusional. Matt is so out of his league. He’s older, more handsome, taller, way more mature. Elijah totally doesn’t stand a chance, but he’s gonna try regardless. That’s what Tommy would want (not him dating an older man), Elijah going for what he wanted.
Out of impulse to get out of his head, Elijah began spraying Matt with the spray. He was giggling to himself, which he guesses is what got him caught.
“Are you serious? What are you doing?”
Elijah silently went back to work, trying to ignore the fact that he could feel Matt’s stare burning into his skull.
“Don’t do that again.”
Elijah was tempted to do it again, but he forgot about the vow he made himself. Oh, yeah, that’s right. He was supposed to not get Matt to argue with him.
They worked after that in silence. Well, Elijah was still singing and humming to himself. So silence from Matt. Anyways, house after house they cleaned windows, Matt talked to customers, and Elijah checked his phone religiously.
On their second to last house of the day Elijah spotted a step ladder. Hrm, who's this? Is it even supposed to be here? Now that he's looking at it, it was kind of funny seeing a step ladder in such a random spot. Matt walked by, busy loading the truck, so Elijah asked him.
“Hey, is this our step ladder?”
Matt stopped to see what he was talking about.
“Yup, nothing gets past you, bud.”
Elijah smiled when Matt turned away. Holy cow, did Matt really just give him a compliment!? Was Elijah finally working his way into Matt’s heart? This day just got so much better!

Now, Elijah was walking with Matt in the city. Elijah was looking at everyone and everything. While he was job hunting, he was too busy on the grind (no he wasn’t, he just didn’t pay attention to his surroundings) to stop and admire the city. That he now resides in with Ssaem. And even shared the space with Matt. Wow, this is a really good day so far. Elijah doesn’t know why he’s getting so sentimental, but he is.
It’s been a hectic time as an adult. Some days were better than others, but that’s okay. As long as Elijah got to text Levi and Tommy, got to wake up to Ssaem’s presence, and be allowed in Matt’s space everything was gonna be fine. Wow, superman would like totally high-five him for such a positive thought.
Elijah turned his head to the left when he caught sight of a dirty window. Wait, yes! Another marketing idea. He leaned into Matt’s space to get him to listen.
“Matt, look, look, those windows are pretty dirty. What if-what if we go up to like just a random ramp store and just wash the windows for free. And then we take a picture and we’re like, ‘Oh we wash… windows! Just as like a service for free. Like, ‘Oh we’re a nice company.’ Like, look! Right here we could just do this right here. Oh, look-”
“What do we do about our scheduled clients?”
“Well, we do those, we do those too but then we just like sneak in like the little free ones and it's like, we just do a little heart emoji like,” Elijah makes the heart emoji with his hands, “We love our city!”
“So you just wanna start doing work for free?”
“Mhmm, nooooo, no, no, no. Just like every now and then, y'know?"
“Honestly, this isn’t your worst idea yet. It’s not bad. Sometimes we will do that for companies if they’re on the fence for us. We’ll give em a window clean.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, let’s just-let’s just do it for like random-”
“But you’re asking-you just wanna start just cleaning everything for free. Is that what you’re asking?”
“And then everybody’s like, “Oh wow, they’re the cool window company. They’re nice.’”
“Yeah ... .See that’s where-that’s where we kind of get lost on like ‘good ideas’ and then they turn into really bad ideas.”
Elijah deflated, rolling his eyes when Matt turned away. This is like the thousandth time Matt turned down his awesome sauce ideas. Whatever, Matt just doesn’t know what he’s missing. He will eventually though, because he’ll give in one day. Elijah’s counting on it.
They reach the last client’s house destination. They worked, got it done, and boom they’re back in the car. Usually, Elijah would be snoring in the car by this time. But he’s brimming with energy. Matt notices this and turns to look at him.
“You’re still up. What’s up with that?”
“Um, I, uh, can I ask you something?”
Matt squints at him, but he still nods his head.
“So…y’know how we’re both DC fans.”
“No, we’re not.”
“And we’re like Batman and Superman.”
“Elijah, you are far from Superman.”
“Matt, Matt, Matt, just listen, please. Please just listen and think like, really, really, really, hard on this. Please.”
Matt was silent for a minute, and he quickly averted his eyes as if the sight of Elijah burned him. That was weird.
“Sure. Shoot.”
“Can we go to the movies and go watch Superman?”
“Elijah, no.”
“Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt.”
“No, Elijah, no. And that’s final. I need rest, you need rest. I don’t even feel like driving there.”
“Maaaaaaatt.”
“Elijah. Stop.”
“I’ll pay for everything.”
“You can’t even afford that.”
“I’ll pay you back then!”
“You could buy me a yacht and I’d still say no.”
“Maaaaaaatt. Maaaaaaaaatt. Maaaaaaaatt. Pleaseeeeeeee.”
“No. N. O. No.”
“I’ll be quiet during it! You won’t even know I’m there! I promise!”
“I already told you my answer.”
“ I just want to hangout with my cool boss.”
“....Elijah.”
“Please, Matt. Please. I’ll be so good, I promise.”
Matt flinched back as if Elijah had struck him. Elijah leaned over the console space to possibly help him, fearing that the eggs with barbecue sauce caught up to him, but Matt just swatted his hands away.
“Alright! Alright! We’ll go, we’ll go. Jesus Christ…”
“Yay!”

Matt was driving them to the movies in his personal car. A Ford F-150. Elijah's jaw was still hanging loose just from the sheer size of it. It was a beautiful red, and just hearing the engine roar made Elijah almost pee himself. The entire ride Elijah was laughing from the speed Matt was going. Matt tried to turn his Nirvana up to cancel out the loudness of Elijah’s dumbassery, but it was no use.
Once they made it to the movies Elijah tried to take off running but Matt held him by the back of his shirt, pulling him close.
“You’re not getting hit by a car after forcing me to watch this movie with you.”
They got in, Matt handled all the business and talking. The only thing Elijah did was point at the candy he wanted.
Once they got in Elijah was buzzing all over the place. He couldn’t believe this! His wish came true!! Gosh, he’s so freaking happy. He turns over to look at Matt, who’s glaring at the ads.
“Matt-”
“Inside voice, Elijah.”
“Pssst, Pssst, Matt. Matt. Matt, thank you so much. I’m so happy. This is like so cool, I’m so excited. Are you excited?”
“...You’re welcome, even though my hand was forced-”
“You could’ve said no.”
“....Elijah….I literally did. Multiple times.”
“Well, still, thank you! Here-here’s my apology, get some of my candy.”
Elijah tried to feed it to him but Matt kept dodging him, desperately swatting off his.
“Elijah, no, stop, move! You are an adult, why did you even pick M&M’s?”
“Um, because they’re good. Plus, you paid for it so eat 'em.”
“No, give me some other candy. I’m not eating chocolate so late.”
“Why? Are you afraid it’ll give you nightmares?”
“Elijah….I’m gonna say this once-”
Elijah shoved a handful of Skittles into Matt’s mouth, clasping his hand over to force Matt to swallow them down. He will kill Matt with kindness if he has to.
Matt does swallow them, but next thing Elijah knows Matt has him in a Full Nelson.

Elijah felt the car stopped in the midst of his crying, and he turned to see that they were outside of his home.
“Alright, time to go.”
“Maaaaaaaaaat. The-it-that was SO beautiful,” more sobs came out, “I’m-I’m so happy and sad at-at the same time!”
“It was a nice movie. Very touching. Now get out of my car.”
“Maaaaat. Maaaaaaatt.”
“Shushhh, shushhh, it’s like nine pm, Elijah.”
“ Like it was sooooo good. And-and then the guy that died!”
Elijah went into another sobbing fit but by this time Matt leaned over to unbuckled him. Elijah finally got the memo and got out of the car, walking backwards to continue talking to Matt.
“Thank youuuu for taking me. I’m so *sniffles* happy.”
“I would say no problem, but it really was.”
“That was like the best movie ever.”
“Mhm, now go. Be quiet for Mr. Choi. Go to bed immediately. I mean it, Elijah.”
“Okay, Matt. See you tomorrow. Thank you.”
In the back of his mind he noted that he didn’t hear Matt’s car drive off until he was inside.
Author’s Note: Chapter seven down! How we doing? How we feeling? We got a lil glimpse of soft Matt!! Ya’ll worry, because it’ll be a while until this version comes back lol. But don’t worry Elijah, your daddy will eventually come back around.
We got whiny submissive Eli here as well! Gosh, I love writing his whines. It was making my toes curl LMFAOO. Also, why do you think Matt finally caved in and took him to go see the movies??? Heh, wink, wink, smirk, smirk.
Another thing, do yall like the scenes I’ve been adding in? As yall probably realize, I write the videos word per word, and then I usually make up scenes and dialogue after that. Do y'all like it? I’m trying to flesh out the characters more than what they show us. Matt be soooo mean in some of the videos, and obviously I can’t just write only that part-because there'll be no romance! I don’t want sweet innocent naive Eli marrying an asshole. And I know y'all don’t want that either! So I gotta get him to go from mean/condesencing to reluctant sweet tsundere. Lmk if it’s working or not! I don’t want him to be too mean to the point it’s like ‘alright, get this fuck ass asshole outta here’ but I also don’t want him to be too soft bc that’s not his character. He’s a tsundere through and through.
Haven’t seen Levi in a lil minute. Yall miss him? I haven’t seen Mr. Choi/Sensei either! But don’t worry, I ain’t forget about my own characters. Levi will actually be pretty important in Eli’s decisions *wink* *wink*. As for Mr. Choi, I’ll try to incorporate him somehow. I’ve stopped writing Eli’s morning scenes bc I’m not sure if y'all like that. It’s more of a filler part in the chapters, just pretty much comedy or kick-starting Eli’s dilemma of the day (aka how that one superman show worked! Just in a different way.) I lowkey missed writing them because Mr. Choi bullying Eli is just so funny to me. But he loves his boy to bits, trust!
Lmk if yall got any song recommendations. I got a pretty good list on my own now that the plot is kicking off, but I’m very open-minded. The songs could be for Matt or Eli!
