do any other systems feel insanely invalid when they learn they’ve been using the wrong term?

We legitimately did not know the difference between subsystems and layers, so we’ve been calling our layers subsystems.

Logically we know it’s just because we had a misunderstanding between the terms but it feels like we still should’ve used the correct one.

Do you feel invalid because you’re put into this group of people who can’t lead normal lives or ever function properly?? Maybe my dissociations from reality will get worse, or maybe I’ll lose myself more often, but I really feel that I can lead a normal life, and I’m a little offended that we’re stereotyped like this

feeling invalid for being agender because I don't mind being called she/her but then I remember I literally don't feel gender. There's just nothing there.
