I read this post and thought "Huh, I should write a fic where Rodney gives John a kidney and John feels like he owes him and has to repay him so he's doing extra stuff for Rodney and being extra protective in the field and being extra attentive and Rodney feels bad because 1. John is doing All Of This and it's A Lot 2. he really likes it 3. he thinks he might really like John (before Rodney thought he liked John just in the way that everyone in the universe likes John because everyone thinks he's hot and funny and clever and capable but now he's not so sure) but he doesn't want to put that on John when he's Like This and doing All Of This because he doesn't think John will be honest about what he wants.
