It’s the way that TVD ended with “that is the promise of peace, that one day, after a long life, we find each other again,” and then Legacies went, no, the promise of peace is that one day, after a short and miserable life, you have to fill up a fish bowl with coins for a skeleton guy on a dock because you keep being denied peace after doing literally nothing wrong in your life and after you did only good and sacrificed everything to save everyone. But you will be held responsible for what a monster did with your body while you had no control and suffered while trapped in your own mind and were tormented. But don’t forget that this show is the “most hopeful” out of the TVDU shows.
