More Hornet Thoughts, Because She Clings To My Brain:
Weavers are micromanagers and puppet-masters, while Wyrms are distant rulers and empire-builders. It's two very different styles of control, and the way they each manifest within Hornet is fascinating. Like a Wyrm, she's generally emotionally distant and rarely forms attachments, but like a Weaver we see the way the attachments she DOES make can become obsessions. She insists Pharloom is not her home and maintains a heavy degree of self-reliance, yet she ALSO personally delivers everyone's mail and fights their gods. Like she may be emotionally distant, but she also instinctively and immediately takes control/responsibility of any situation you put her in.
I wonder how shippers handle this sort of thing, because that combination of emotional distance and controlling personality would make her uniquely difficult to have a relationship with. "Submission or destruction: those are the only paths my kind allow." Or is that the appeal? Any shippers out there, please enlighten me!
