I understand that the majority of the issues people have with Linux, is due to the fact that so much stuff comes with the need for extra knowledge that the average person doesn't have.

But maybe, just maybe, less people would have issues if every tutorial was given to you with the assumption that you have absolutely no knowledge of everything.

Don't just give me a command to copy and paste, tell me in simple terms what this command does, what does -O do? why is it here? what's the difference between it and -o?

I know it's not realistic to expect that, not everyone has the time or ability to teach like that, but I'm so tired of looking up a reddit thread with a bunch of lingo I have no idea what it means and a task that would take five minutes on windows now takes three hours of mostly googling.
