When I was around the age of 8 I saw an angel. I guess I was a bit of an odd child in that I was quite spiritual. I had an innate sense or consciousness of God from my earliest memories. I always spoke to God. I prayed to God. I read scripture. I told others about God and His love for them. I don't remember a time I decided I believed something, I just always believed. This has always been my reality. It has been my experience that as real and valid as this is to me, it's as implausible and not real to others. I get that. Anyways, one night my parents had went out and left us with the sitter. The sitter was having a party, it was a stormy night and I remember being scared. I started to pray. I prayed for God to send His angels to protect me and keep me safe. Out of the corner of my eye a movement caught my eye. I focused on the movement and stared in disbelief. At the end of my bed there was an angel. It was more of an outline than a detailed view in the dark, dimly lit room. It walked around the end of my bed up towards where I was lying. It's outfit glittered slightly as it moved. If I thought I was scared before I prayed, at this point I was terrified. I squeezed my eyes shut and prayed to not see the angel. I didn't open my eyes again and lay like that until I fell asleep. When I woke up the next day I told my parents. They had me repeat my story multiple times. I told my grandparents. It was mentioned to my aunts and uncles. The curious thing is that not one adult I told tried to dismiss it as childish imagination. They asked questions. They wondered if maybe I was dreaming. But really, overall I was totally believed. I think that had almost as much impact on me as my actual experience. It further confirmed my reality of the supernatural all around us. I don't share this story often. I don't care if I'm believed or not. It's my experience. That's it. I don't believe they are a strong persuasion to use on others. But I don't mind sharing. They are apart of me and because of these and many, many other experiences I am a believer.
