This week’s ep has me feeling very emotional about Carly and Sam’s friendship, but also said some things that didn’t quite fit with my previous headcanons posts (links - Sam; Gibby), maybe because I’ve still counted Sam & Cat as canon?

Sooooooo here’s some OG iCarly gang college years headcanons:

All the gang end up in California for their college years: Sam is still living in Venice with Cat, Freddie gets into Caltech, and Carly (after a gap year as she was still in Italy) goes to UCLA. Gibby moves to LA from Seattle when he’s around 20/21.

Sam and Carly sink right back into their friendship, even though there were times during the Italy years where things were distant or awkward between them

The year that it’s just Sam and Freddie in LA, they spend a lot of time together. Freddie will always come over for Goomer’s MMA fights and Cat’s shows, and Sam would always go and be Freddie’s plus one to any parties he was invited to, and you know... things don’t always remain strictly platonic. When Carly moves too, they agree that they aren’t going to hook up anymore, as they don’t want to lie to Carly about it, but also they don’t want to tell her that it’s been happening in the first place.

It’s in Carly’s first year of college that they save up and buy Vin Diesel. Carly has money from her Italian QVC days, and puts this with Sam’s babysitting money to buy him. The first weekend they have him, Carly, Sam and Freddie take the 19hour road trip home to Seattle and surprise Spencer. 

Before Gibby and Sam start up Gibby’s, every Summer Sam heads home to Seattle for the Summer with Carly and Freddie. It was during these Summers that Carly and Sam have their roadtrips, just for the two of them. 

Meanwhile, Freddie spent his summers working multiple jobs/spending time with wife no. 1 (less convinced by this point that it’s Sam or someone we know, but I could still be proven wrong).

It’s the Summer between Carly’s 1st/2nd year of college (so Freddie’s 2nd/3rd), that she convinces Sam to try looking for Bigfoot again. Turns out she never let it go after that time when they were 15, and has had a journal specifically dedicated to tracking Bigfoot’s movements this entire time. Sam still thinks she’s insane but goes with her, and promises to never doubt Carly again after what they find...

They talk about the idea of restarting iCarly again, especially considering they’re all back in the same place, but they’re all so busy that it never quite happens, which secretly, Sam is actually thankful for.

Sam tries to mix her LA and Seattle friends, but admittedly, things are still a bit awkward between Carly and Tori (who is Sam’s least favourite of Cat’s friends anyway, but who she has to get close to when she’s dating Andre because she’s his best friend).

When Carly graduates, she’s completely ready to move back to Seattle, and tries to convince Sam to move back with her, but Sam knows that Seattle isn’t home for her anymore. Carly doesn’t tell her about the fact that she already had Spencer put down a starting rent on an apartment in Bushwell for them...

Around the same time as Carly trying to convince her to move back to Seattle, Cat tells Sam that her and Robbie want to move in together, and it’s while she’s trying to work out where she’s going to live, that she meets The Obliterators, and things kind of just fall into place.
