You guys don't know the utter shock and vague horror you have when you're checking arctic cams in Lental and seeing a Beartic and Empoleon getting into a fight and thinking, "Ah yes, a common territorial disputes. If the Beartic wins, it will eat the Empoleon, and if the Empoleon wins, it will either kill the Beartic or cast it out" only to see the Empoleon win and instead of casting the Beartic out, the Beartic and Empoleon proceed to uhm... not do that. Or continue battling
Anyways. Completely and totally unrelated. Did you know that a Piplup crossed with a Beartic is called an Icebreaker piplup? ☺️☺️
No, in all honesty, though, egg groups have created really interesting predator and prey dynamics. Humans tend to be attracted to their species and their species only, while pokemon's attraction to each other can vary widely, even to their own predators or prey. A really interesting story to me is in my own home of Galar, where a Boltund and a Skwovet pair bonded, despite Boltund hunting and eating Skwovet.
