If I went to Hogwarts I would buy a bunch of hair dye and bleach to sell to students.
Imagine just everyone in the great hall with rainbow hair.
Punk Hogwarts. Tonks is quaking.
Joys of being disabled...
If I act "normal" & don't tell everyone about all my disability problems (most of which I don't WANT everyone to know) ... I get accused of being "not that disabled"
If I open up and tell people, or involuntarily show pain/discomfort... I get pity/uncomfortableness.
If I go outside and live my life... I'm an inspiration.
If I stay indoors because I don't feel like going out today... I'm weak and incapable.
If I decline help... I'm rude/stubborn
If I accept/ask for help ... I'm treated like a child.
If I go out with people... they get asked questions about me like I'm not there.
If I go out alone... people ask me where my carer is.
If I work ... I get called clever, or I get accused of not being disabled.
If I don't work ... I'm lazy or a burden.
If I date... people assume they're my carer, or tell them how brave they are.
If I don't date... people assume I'm going to die alone, because I'm disabled.
If I am able to do something... I'm making my disability up.
If I am not able to do something... people who can do it fail to understand why.
If I use accessibility options in public (e.g. not having to queue) ... I'm abusing my disability just to get better stuff.
If I don't use accessibility options... I'm foolish/stubborn.
If I talk to people in public services... I must be mentally disabled & get spoken to like a child
If I don't talk to people in public services... I'm mentally disabled & can't talk.
If I don't want to answer your inappropriate questions... I'm rude.
If I decide to give you an answer... You'll be uncomfortable because you won't have expected an honest answer.
If I talk about disability & my rights ... I'm known as that disabled person who just talks about disability.
If I don't talk about disability & my rights ... why aren't I if I'm disabled?
