Real talk: post competition binging is no joke. I've been there 🙋. After months of feeling deprived and then suddenly being "allowed" to eat your favorite foods is a high like no other. Some even compare it to that of a drug addict getting their fix. It's a completely helpless feeling. You feel like you can't stop even though you want to and then the pounds rack on. The reason it was so important to me to follow macros/flexible dieting this prep was so I could put off the feeling of deprivation as much as possible so I don't feel the need to binge again post comp. I'm a big foodie! A lot of girls under eat. I am not that girl! (Fucking clearly) I'm not saying macros is right and I'm not saying clean eating is wrong. But this is what worked for ME. Everyone is different. In fact, I even met a few competitors this weekend who preferred clean eating over macros because that's what works for them. Props! 🙌 But I need peanut butter, ice cream, and lattes in my life! Again - this is what works for me. But whether a clean eater or a macro'er (I just made that a thing 💁), this is what happens as a result of a 3 day binge. Metabolic slow down is normal when you're eating at a deficit. So when you go back to your normal eating habits whether on prep or on a strict diet, your metabolism just isn't there and you gain all your weight back or more. This time- I enjoyed myself a cheat meal of course. After all, I've earned it 👊 Did I eat til I was stuffed? You bet your ass I did! This girl don't waste food 🙊🐷 BUT! I ended it there and got right back on track the very next day. And every day since Im taking steps in the right direction and living a life in balance. 😊🙌 #iifym #iifymgirls #iifymprep #flexibledieting #teambrittanydawn #postcompetition
