꒰ঌ Nobunaga Oda ໒꒱

It's no secret that Nobunaga loves being physically close to you in any way he can. Besides the obvious desire to be intimate, he just likes holding you, kissing you, or simply holding your hand.

He also loves having you on his lap literally at any point. He just likes holding you there, it doesn't matter if he's taking care of work or simply relaxing and having a drink, it's probably his favorite position to be in.

He spoils you, you're his after all, and if you want something, he'll make sure you get it, even if he may tease you about it occasionally, he'd still do anything for you. He loves giving you gifts, specially wearables so he can actually see you with them (and also show you off. You're his beloved lucky charm after all!).

Spending quality time with you is also one of his greatest pleasures. He loves playing go with you specially, since he likes the game itself quite a lot, but he'd play anything or do anything with you regardless. Of course, he'd always rather do things that interest him personally with you, but he is able to compromise and do some of your favorite activities too.

Masamune looooves complimenting you. He just wants you to know how breathtaking you are at all times, it's something you absolutely can't forget. He makes sure to shower you with encouragement and loving words, he loves seeing the cute smile on your face whenever he does.

He just adores you, and he makes that known. He can be a flirt, and he does sometimes compliment you in flirtier ways, but he always means every single one. He cares so much about you and your confidence, and if he can help you raise it, all the better.

Physical touch is an obvious one for him. He loves being close to you, and when you reciprocate or initiate physical affection yourself? He's over the moon. His favorite thing is when you wrap your arms around him while he's cooking. He may be a charming flirt, but when it comes to the love of his life, he melts completely. He makes sure to hold you extra close when you're in the futon at night!

Masamune is a cook, and his favorite part of being a cook is hearing how much people love the meals he prepares. When it comes to you, it's what he anticipates the most: that soft smile that appears on your face, that shine in your eyes as you take the first bite. He always knows you'll love it, but he always looks forward to hearing it from you.

One of Hideyoshi's goals is making sure you know you're loved and cared for. He always tells you how lovely you look, but most of all, he praises your abilities and skills. He wants you to know you're doing great, no matter what, and that he fully supports and adores you. More than compliments, Hideyoshi gives encouragement and gentle motivation throughout the day.

He loves doing things for you. If you're tired he'll literally do all your chores for you, you don't even need to ask, he just needs to notice. He'll clean, he'll cook, anything. He's very attentive, and even if sometimes things go over his head a little, he's still very perceptive, specially when it comes to his partner. He loves surprising you with everything clean and organized, seeing the relief on your face when you realize he's done all of this for you is priceless to him.

Hideyoshi's gifts are always either sweet, practical, or both. He's the type of partner to listen to everything you say and make mental note of the things you want or need, and he'll get them for you. He likes surprising you with items you've mentioned a while ago, things that even you forgot you mentioned, but that he remembers regardless. He'd give you flowers and romantic gifts often, he's just a big sweetheart.

꒰ঌ Mitsuhide Akechi ໒꒱

Mitsuhide's touches are incredibly gentle. He's a tease, but he's also hopelessly in love with you, and he shows that a lot physically. He loves pulling into an embrace randomly, holding you when you're sad in hopes it'll cheer you up, and he specially loves running his fingers through your hair. His kisses are soft, sweet, and loving.

He's the type of man to secretly do things for you and never mention them. He'll clean the house or organize something you'd forgotten to, and then pretend you didn't forget at all. It's not that he's afraid to admit it, he just likes playing with you. Despite his lack of taste, he's an excellent tea brewer, and that's one of the things he does the most for you. Somehow his tea is always perfect, and he really likes seeing your face relax as you drink a warm cup.

He teases you really often. He loves doing it, nothing new there. He'll praise you in that playfully mocking tone of his, only to rile you up and mess with you. But then there are those sickeningly sweet moments where he looks you in the eyes and tells you that you're the best thing that ever happened to him. He's so softhearted when it comes to you and it really shows, whispering how much he loves you as you two drift off to sleep.

꒰ঌ Ieyasu Tokugawa ໒꒱

Ieyasu is rather reserved. He doesn't like admitting a lot of things regarding his true feelings, and so his love languages are very centered around actions rather than words. He loves taking care of you. He's a doctor, so he's used to taking care of people, and that's no different when it comes to his partner, except with you, he likes doing it all the time. He'll check up on you regularly if you're having an off day, and without words, he'll bring you snacks or water for you to drink. Cleaning isn't exactly his favorite activity (even if he does like his space tidy) but he'll do it for you without complaints if he has to or if he wants to surprise you that day.

Spending time with you is one of his favorite things. He's always wanted a partner who he could be with in the same space in silence, and he finally has that. He loves just coexisting in the same space, either doing the same activity or both of you your own thing, with the occasional conversation coming up, but otherwise in silence. He also likes going on dates. Most of the time he's either not the one initiating those dates, or he does but in a more roundabout way.

Despite how reserved he is, Ieyasu does love physical affection, and he really loves your attention. He doesn't initiate said affection often, but when he does, you can feel all his love pour out of him. He holds you tight, he kisses you desperately, all because he wants you to know that he loves you, even if he often shows it more than he says it. He's afraid his love might not come across as easily due to how non verbal it usually is, so he makes sure you feel it instead.

Can you write if MC was uncomfortable with her gender, and how the warlords would react to this? Reactions from Nobunaga, Ieyasu, Shingen, Mitsuhide, Kennyo and Kicho?

Ooh, interesting! Hope this is what you meant by uncomfortable with her gender, enjoyyy!

Nobunaga:

Nobunaga's surprisingly open minded when you first mention that you don't feel comfortable with your gender. I mean, compared to the ladies in the Sengoku, you are pretty tom boy.

When you first tell him 'I just don't feel like a woman'. He tackles the problem... veryyy directly - why don't you come here and I'll make you feel like a woman? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

If you just feel a sense of discomfort with your gender and you just don't know why, he's fine with giving you time to find yourself and leaving it undefined - it doesn't have to have a label right now, and the both of you can navigate it together until you find yourself.

To him, labels have never mattered. You’ve always exceeded both his expectations and society’s, never quite fitting the narrow definition of a “woman” in the Sengoku era, and perhaps that’s where your discomfort comes from. But that’s nothing new. You were never meant to fit. So go out there and make your own definition of being a woman!

Ieyasu:

Confused at first, because he was under the impression there was something going on with you physically.

Once he understands, he's silent for a while, mainly because he doesn't know how to respond and he doesn't want to say the wrong thing. Although everyone talks about you giving the clan heirs, not wanting to be a baby making machine doesn't make you any less of a woman.

He goes through BOOKS trying to find something to help you, but there's nothing about this in his time period. Then one day he sees a young woman covered in dirt, chopping wood with her father. He snorted cuz it reminded him of you when you ran by the lake and came back covered in mud. Why is it so complicated? You can do whatever you want to do, even if it's not what a 'woman' does.

He goes home, hugs you and peppers you with kisses. "Hey... even if everyone else thinks you're weird, I still love you," he conveys awkwardly.

Shingen:

Thought it was a him problem at first. Thought it was because he wasn't treating you like a lady or that Yuki called you a boar woman again and you weren't feeling feminine.

If that's the case, he'd give Yuki a stern talking to and you will unlock ULTIMATE PRINCESS MODE where he treats you like the most delicate, beautiful flower in the world. You are smothered with love.

If it's a problem of the way you feel about yourself, he listens. He listens as long as you need him to. You can vent, brainstorm or just seek simple reassurances from him. He promises the two of you will work it out together in the end. After the deep, long talk you feel SO much better after letting it all out.

Over the next few months, Shingen will check in with you every once in a while to make sure you're feeling okay. Feeling lost because of what society expects you to do vs what you want to do is okay, but feeling despair isn't. He makes sure you don't slip into self-hate.

Mitsuhide:

Teases you initially, "what do you mean, my little mouse? Of course you are a woman, you're my woman, are you not?"

To be honest, he might've seen this coming a while ago. He's been watching you shift uncomfortably in your skin for a few months now, especially when some of the silly clan elders who should just retire keep calling you 'un-lady like'.

Mitsuhide has first hand experience of putting on multiple masks for different people in his field, so he knows how to deal with feeling insecure on your identity.

When you admit you want to appear more “lady-like” (partly for his sake, so you don’t reflect poorly on him) but fear losing yourself in the process, Mitsuhide compromises with you. You can wear a mask when the situation calls for it, but when it’s just the two of you? You can run around wildly, speak without restraint and laugh too loudly all you like.

Kennyo:

Kennyo frowns deeply when you tell him you don't feel comfortable in your own skin. Brews some tea for the both of you and lets you speak.

When he realises it's about the expectations of being a woman in the Sengoku period chipping away at your own identity, it pains him because he wants nothing more than for you to be yourself.

Like Mitsuhide, proposes a compromise - there's a proper time and place for everything. There is nothing wrong with being a Sengoku woman when visiting provinces as a missionary then coming home to kick off your shoes and sprawl haphazardly across the floor.

Even if there needs to be that separation, those separate parts of you are still you, and Kennyo encourages you to embrace both sides. After all, like, Kennyo, who is a demon and a monk at the same time, you can be a Sengoku woman and a woman from the future at the same time - it's just a matter of time and place!

Kicho:

Understands you 100% because of what happened to him in his childhood, he's also had times where he was confused or uncomfortable with who he was.

He worked it out in the end, and so will you. You just need time.

He ultimately doesn't care what you settle on wanting to do. He has been to the future and understands expectations for women are different there.

Very direct and to-the-point that you should explore if you want to, "us humans are complex. No person can be defined by the same words or expectations. If you feel the need to break the confines of that cage to feel like yourself, then you should do so."

Nobunaga

Y/N would have trouble shaking this man off her many, many tails.

From the moment he realizes her true nature, he is fascinated, enraptured by her. Unabashedly so.

Her inhuman beauty, her cunning wiles, all of it demands his attention so fiercely he can't help but want to unravel every part of the mystery that she is.

Yes, he is well aware that kitsunes are hardly trustworthy and one must always keep their wits about them when dealing with one, especially one such as her.

She herself is mildly taken aback, but also a little entertained by his fervent attentions and his audacious commands, which she quite easily sidesteps and waves off, unwilling to take orders of any kind from humans.

The man is unpredictable and a little capricious, so he doesn't relent on the idea of making the beautiful creature his. For her part, she enjoys the chase to an extent, the attention the leader of the Oda gives her, he who wishes to unify Japan, trying to rule the heart of a wild kitsune.

How interesting...foolhardy, arrogant, presumptuous, but interesting all the same.

He actually stumbles upon her one evening, outside, laying on her belly with no more clothing than women are born with, her sultry body bare in the moonlight and only her most hidden parts shielded by the many tails she usually keeps hidden under her glamour.

Her ears, fox's ears, perk up when he approaches, but she doesn't move aside from languidly looking over her shoulder, leveling an inscrutable look in his direction.

She makes no move to push him away when his hand brushes across one of her tails, admiring the soft fur under his fingers as he works up the slow moving appendage, until he reaches her, caressing the small of her bare back with his lips curve into a smirk as he meets her eyes that blaze in the night's darkness.

"So this is what your true form is...I can't wait to conquer it as well as your heart."

Hideyoshi

Initially...didn't trust her as far he could throw her.

Didn't need another Mitsuhide...especially one as ravishing as her. That level of beauty was dangerous. Especially to Lord Nobunaga.

Kitsunes are not to be trusted, everyone knows that, and that goes double for the already wary Hideyoshi.

What makes it worse is how unfazed she is by his warnings and suspicions. She only responds with slow smiles and tilted heads as her sharp, but perfectly shaped nails graze her closed red lips as she chuckles behind them.

He may as well be an angry duckling for how seriously the coy vixen takes him.

Hideyoshi battles with frustrations towards her and not just because she is enigmatic and unbothered, but also because of the desire sneaking up inside him when he lays eyes on her. It only amplifies because her eyes, sharp and glowing at times, almost seem to see through him, beckoning him to her, promising everything, yet giving away nothing.

He once corners her in the hallway, interrogating her about her intentions, demanding to know what it is she is after. As usual, she dances circles around him, but this time, she catches him completely by surprise when he feels the brush of fur against his cheek.

One look to the side reveals one of nine pristine tails fluttering next to him. He snaps his gaze back to hers when she giggles, her eyes alight with pleasure as her fluffy ears replace her human ones. She grins seductively, her canines as sharp as his suspicious gaze.

She nips his wrist in warning and slips away from him with ease, her hips swaying as he watches after her, fascination, unease and frustration mixing into one as he clutches his fists, aware that she is taking him for a ride and will continue to do so as long as he keeps pursuing her this way.

"That woman... could she be more dangerous?"

Yukimura

He doesn't know what to make of the mysterious fox woman.

The awkward young man he is, he no more knows how to approach her than he would any other woman, but its made worse by how much his awkwardness seems to amuse her.

Her sharp, beautiful eyes would stay on him, glinting with mischief

It gets on his nerves, really, she is making no effort to hide that she gets a kick out of flustering him, toying with him endlessly.

He makes it his mission to get one over her, but it never really seems to work out. She always seems so unashamed, so eager to use humans for her entertainment.

But the more he engages in this game with her, the more enthralled he becomes by her bewitching stares, the way her body moves with seductive grace and her soft, alluring voice.

That competitive sentiment brings out his bolder, more masculine side, the side that wants to have her, one day when she is teasing him as per usual, so he decides to shut her up for a change. He doesn't overthink it, he just wraps her in his arms and pulls her into a deep and surprising kiss, taking her by surprise for once.

When he runs a hand through her hair to pull her closer, he feels something fluffy and pulls back, he is greeted with the sight of two fox ears, soft to the touch in place of her human ears.

Her bright eyes glint with both impressed surprise and a flicker of new respect, since he did manage to startle her enough that she dropped her glamour to reveal her true form. Her tails swirl together behind her like a dancing flower in the wind as Yukimura watches mesmerized by the sight.

He manages to look back down at her as what just happened clicks and he is equal parts embarrassed and proud and it shows by the growing grin on his face.

He got one over the gorgeous fox, even just for a little while.

"Ha. Got you, fox woman."

Mitsuhide

Ah, this man may be fox like, but that does not mean he is a match for an actual fox, let alone a vixen such as herself.

He may be punching above his weight with this one, but instead of being driven away, he revels in the challenge.

She with her beautiful, mirthful eyes always seem to calculate, to entrance, to manipulate and to ensnare.

A fox like man and an actual kitsune woman...what an interesting pair they make.

He is not so much irritated or put off that he is outmatched in cunning and wiliness by such a woman, rather he is intrigued and simply must know more.

It's like a game between the two and he never tires of seeing how plays others and twists them around her finger, especially the likes of distrusting Hideyoshi, all with a tempting smile on those beautiful lips.

Simply marvelous.

He finds himself fortunate enough to engage in one of their frequent verbal duels when he leans forward, about to teasingly touch her when something soft wraps around his wrist halting him. He finds it to be one of nine tails, the other eight flowing behind her like waves, in pristine, clean condition, matching the ears pointed upwards on her head.

After a moment of surprise, admiring her mystical beauty and the splendor of her many, many tails, he smiles like...well a fox with a canary.

"What a lovely little fox you are."

Some strange headcanons about the warlords I have:

Nobunaga curls up in his futon when he sleeps since he feels cold every night before he met Mai

Shingen and Kennyo sees themselves in Yukimura and Sasuke when remembering their past (if you get it then you get it)

Kennyo destroyed Nobunaga in a game when he first came to visit Azuchi (from Kennyo’s birthday story this year)

Ieyasu envy Mitsunari’s oblivious nature as he never had a chance to be experienced it; at the same time, he protects him from any danger that may pose him (like an older brother protecting his lil bro despite it being the opposite in this situation)

Keiji and Mitsuhide have competition of who can get away from the mother hen the longest as a way to annoy Hideyoshi (Keiji wins thanks to him being gone from the entirety of Act 1)

Kennyo at first denied the fact that Ranmaru is his child at first but says Ranmaru is his if someone insults Ranmaru for being an orphan (before the whole demon/revenge thing)

Yoshimoto still gets nightmares about his past and wrongdoings but smiles when the sun is up cuz he doesn’t want anyone to know about what he is feeling as it doesn’t matter

Kenshin keeps a fabric of Isehime as a constant reminder of what he lost till he let it go after getting with Mai (showcasing his development not only as a character but as a person)

Mitsunari isn’t afraid to throw hands if someone he cares about gets hurt, he is a warlord by title and he will show his enemies what happens when the mask is off (personal hell for the enemy unless you are Kenshin,Kennyo, or Shingen then it is more over a challenge)

Hideyoshi get an identity crisis that occurs whenever he sees something familiar from his past

Mitsuhide pretends to be apathetic to everything but he feels everything — doesn’t show thanks to him being a great actor and forced to survive in the wilderness

Yukimura probably fell off his horse after having a lesson with Shingen every time, thus loosing his progress

Kanetsugu stressed out constantly: “what if lord Kenshin dies? What if the enemies know about me and Keiji? What if I show everyone how terrible I am truly?”

Mai is a person they feel at ease with not because of her beauty or innocence. It how she doesn’t weaponize their insecurities or weakness, just understanding how they came to be. In return she wants them to understand others and make themselves a better person than they are now.

Mai isn’t afraid to discipline the warlords if they done something wrong or straight up stupid — she learned it from her parental grandmother (aka her dad’s mom) who unfortunately had boys and not a single girl (she passed away from old age tho 🥲)

ok i have a lot and i ramble a lot so if you want more just lmk 😛 warning for slight mentions of sex. This isnt a freaky headcanons post but i do mention sex.

Mitsuhide-

i always thought mitsuhide backstory would involve him being a poison tester?? Like you know how nobles always have someone to test their food for poison, i thought HE was forced to be that. And like thats why his sense of taste is gone because like it literally got poisoned off. Idk, i kinda like my backstory a lot lol. But his actual lore is also repulsive and makes a lot of sense 😔

Also he probably doesnt like music a lot. Not because he hates the sound or anything but it always makes him feel very strongly. He is very empathetic so a sad song WILL catch him in the feels and he hates that feeling.

If he was in the present, he would not listen to any music in his free time. Maybe he would listen to see what everyones into and understand people but not for his own personal pleasure. BUT if mai ever asked him to make her a playlist, it would be the most intentional, well rounded and thoughtful collection of songs that all each have their own reasonings for being picked. And she would be like wtf i thought you didnt even listen to music… and he doesnt but its because whenever he even hears a song that reminds him of mai, he never forgets it :)

I do think that once he starts allowing himself to feel more complex emotions after he falls in love, he starts to have a more balanced perspective on music. If mai recommends him music, he would engage with it very sincerely. Ugh omg hes the type of partner to actually watch the shows and music you recommend him. He would act like he wouldnt and then randomly drops a reference and mai is like bruh what.

Ieyasu-

On the other hand, ieyasu loves sad love songs!! Dont ask to see his spotify wrapped tho, he is not showing a single person. I can also see him liking plays and stuff during the sengoku era, again he wouldnt tell anyone though. If him and the oda forces ever saw a play/movie together, he would be the most locked in. if everyone started talking during it, he would be really annoyed but would be too embarrassed to reveal he likes the story and just suffer through it.

Also, i dont think he was a virgin before mai. He definitely didnt fall in love or even have a crush on the women he was with before but i feel like he had a very rigid view on the world which lead to him thinking he needed to have sex with atleast a couple women here and there to feel like a “powerful man.” But then he realized he actually hated the hassle of doing it, I dont think he even got a sense of “pleasure” from those experiences either. To the point that he thought sex and romance were all dramatized in the books and plays he had read.

He would scoff at couples while still feeling a sense of longing that he thought was never meant to be fulfilled!! Until he meets mai and then the emotions he started feeling felt so familiar yet so strange!!

Sasuke-

His first thought when he saw mai was canonically “she seems a little older than me, but also lovely-“ then boom wormhole! So that leads me to thinking he likes older women lmfao. Not SUPER OLDER but like he was the type of have subtle crushes on his teachers and tutors growing up. Like even his friends and peers wouldnt be able to tell. And when i say tutors, he obviously didnt need tutors due to doing bad in school but like his parents probably had him enrolled in extracurricular classes which were led by like college students.

I feel like sasuke also fantasized about a woman that was as beautiful as mai. What i mean to say is that mai is his dream woman lmfao and he manifested her.

Kennyo-

Big fan of headcanoning kennyo as a man that has lived a full life before his war path for nobunaga. In my head, hes like in his late 30s to like early 40s!?!? He was the head of a temple, so yk he probably worked his way up. I feel like he probably fell in love as well, maybe not super all consuming love but he had a full and RICH life before everything and thats why he was so okay with dying over vengeance because he already lost his life!!

The Warlords- Dad Headcanon: Hideyoshi

Hideyoshi my beloved <3 The man deserves a vacation into my arms or at least a decent lunchbreak, >Girl dad like Shingen, but "cursed". >5 daughters, all somehow seeming to take after their uncle Mitsuhide in one way or another, at least in Hideyoshi's mind. >Wouldn't trade them for all the sons in the world though. >Professional at playing pretty princess dress up. >Starts fighting off and worrying about boys at a young age. Sees his 4 year old daughter holding lets sayyyy little Nobunaga Oda Jrs hand in the castle gardens and nearly decides to switch sides just to get away from them. >Such a bragging parent. “well myyy daughter managed to hide the sweets this week and it took lord nobunaga double his usual time to find them.” >Meanwhile, the only reason Nobunaga found them was because one of Hideyoshi's daughter's is a master negotiator. >They suckered Nobunaga for some ponies in exchange of goods. >Thrives for his father daughter dates. He makes sure to do something special with each of them individually every week, even if it's something as simple as fixing her hair while sitting outside as they talk. >Takes all 5 on monthly father daughter outings to the local tea house. >Wants his daughters to stay as far away from war and fighting as possible so struggles when they start becoming interested in what he does. >Ropes Ieyasu into teaching them archery as a distraction and some basic protection skills. ".... Two horses, a new set of Kimonos, and a kitten." The little girl looked up at her father innocently. "That's all I asked for this time!" She sips her tea.

Hideyoshi sighs, rubbing his temples."Girls, you can't just say no to Lord Nobunaga and try and negotiate things with him! He's our Lord! Its not nice."

"But dad! You say no to him all the time! We were just trying to help!" his oldest daughter chimes in, the other 3 nodding their heads eagerly."He was trying to get into the candy again! So we hid it!"

"And instead of telling me so I can stop him you blackmailed him?!" Hideyoshi looks at them incredulously. "What in your right mind possessed you to do that?"

"Uncle Mitsuhide said to make every moment an opportunity! He thought it was a good idea and even helped by showing us a good hiding spot!"
