It’s Just Another Day
Red Velvet 6th Member AU
Dumb Dumb Era
Red Velvet meets BtoB for the first time on their way to Joy and Sungjae’s Wedding
“Do we have to wear this?” Jiwoo asked, whining about their outfits. The Red Velvet members, minus Joy, were preparing to leave for Joy’s wedding. “It’s one thing wear this for a performance, but it’s another to wear it out in public!”
Irene shushed her, “We need to match and besides, yours looks cute on you!”
Jiwoo glared at her. Out of all the members, she hated cute concepts the most! As an adult, she felt awkward acting cute, even if just for a performance, and it made it even worse when their company made them wear outfits like this.
“At least we don’t have to wear the wigs with it,” Seulgi pointed out, knowing how much Jiwoo hated those. “You can have your natural hair flowing in the wind!”
Jiwoo laughed at that. She leaned against the wall next to Yeri, “Yeri? Do you want me to tie your apron?”
“Did I do it wrong?” Yeri tried to look behind her, but couldn’t fully see it. “Does it look bad?”
“It looks messy, but not fully bad.” Jiwoo tied the bow to make it look better. “Remember, we have to look out best! We are Joy’s bridesmaids and you only get married once!”
They started laughing at Jiwoo’s comment as their managed ushered them outside. The bus designed for their wedding had arrived!
“Wow”
The girls went to get a closer look at the bus, and especially the pictures on the outside! They showed Joy and Sungjae getting married on a tower with the BtoB and Red Velvet members at the groomsmen and bridesmaids.
“Do you think they drew that themselves or someone made it come to life for them?” Wendy asked.
“Obviously they drew it themselves! No professional would do that on purpose!”
They laughed at Jiwoo and looked at how bad their sign was really drawn. But at that moment, the bus doors opened reveling BtoB, already on the Bus. Everyone started bowing and introduction were made.
“Just so you knows, the seats on the bus were assigned to each member,” Eunkwang told the girls.
They thanked him and got on the bus. Irene found her seat first, sitting next to Illhoon. “Aw Irene, that’s great! You get to sit next to your crush!” Jiwoo teased her, knowing she would get as red as her skirt!
Irene rubbed her forehead, already used to Jiwoo’s comments. “Who are you next to?”
Jiwoo looked at the sign, “Minhyuk.”
“Yes?”
Jiwoo looked at the boy that had just entered the bus. “Sorry, I was just telling Irene who I was sitting by.” She then sat down and smiled up at him.
He smiled back and sat down next to her. The bus driver started the bus and they started driving to pick up Joy and Sungjae.
“Did you put your seatbelt on?”
Jiwoo looked over to Minhyuk, who looked genuinely concerned for her. She smiled at him. “No sorry, I forgot buses have seatbelts. Thank you.”
“YA, JIWOO-UNNIE! WHY ARE YOU BEING NICE? IF I ASKED YOU THAT, YOU WOULD COME OVER AND TAKE MY SEATBELT OFF YOURSELF TO THEN PUSH ME OFF THE SEAT!” Wendy yelled from across the bus. Everyone started laughing at what she said.
“You can’t be mean to new people! You can only start being mean when you get to know them.” Jiwoo said, matter of factly. Minhyuk smiled at her, but didn’t say anything else. Soon enough they had picked up Joy and Sungjae and started heading for an amusement park to have their wedding!
They spent the day riding rides, playing games, and then at the end, they actually had their wedding! It was beautiful! All Red Velvet and BtoB members were in a parade and at the end, they
“Aw, Joy, I feel like a proud mom!” Jiwoo started tearing up to really sell the moment. “Was this day as magical as it should have been?”
Joy smiled the biggest smile in the world, “It was everything and more.” She then leaned down to Jiwoo and whispered, “I hope my real wedding feels like this!”
Jiwoo smiled back at her, actually having a fun day herself. She spent most of the day with Irene, Minhyuk, and Illhoon. Jiwoo forced Irene to go on all the fast rides and she hated them. At the end though, Minhyuk went up to Jiwoo and he gave her a piece of cake her had stolen eariler. They ate in silence and soon enough, Red Velvet’s manager was collecting all the girls to take them back home.
As Jiwoo got up, Minhyuk grabbed her hand and pulled her towards him. He handed her a note, “Just for the record, I think you look cute in that dress.”
Jiwoo stared at him as he walked away, surprised that he was that bold when flirting. She heard her manager calling and quickly shoved the note down her bra.
(Later that night)
Jiwoo waited until Irene had gone to shower to read the note.
Dear Jiwoo,
I’m writing this on a napkin, so I’m sorry if it looks messy or you can’t read something. I enjoyed out conversations today and every time you smiled at me, I felt something in me light up. If you didn’t feel the same way, I understand and I hope I didn’t make you uncomfortable. If you did feel the same way, here’s my number. If I don’t hear from you by the end of the weak, then I’ll assumer your answer and leave you alone.
Sincerely, Minhyuk
Jiwoo could not stop smiling though reading the entire note. She grabbed her phone and quickly typed his number in. She thought of what to say, so he would know that she was interested and that she wasn’t a sasaeng who got his number!
Hi, Minhyuk. This is Jiwoo. I read your note and I felt something today too. I would love to meet up to talk about it and try to figure out what kind of feelings they were. But you should know, Red Velvet dating ban isn’t over until August of 2017 and they don’t always like when we break their rules. Just something to keep in mind.
She sent it, hoping he would see it sooner rather than later because Jiwoo did not do well with that type of stress. She picked up her book, but couldn't concentrate on anything. Luckily for Jiwoo, her phone buzzed within a minute. She quickly grabbed it and read what Minhyuk had said.
I’m glad that you felt the same. I understand about your dating ban, but I would like to start a friendship with you first. Your company shouldn’t object to that! When your dating ban ends, we can talk more about us, but until then lets get to know each other. How about we go to the Han river? unless your company follows you everywhere, we should be good there. If you’re free tomorrow, I’ll meet you there at 2.
Since Joy was still shooting, Red Velvet weren’t preparing for a comeback. SO she was free tomorrow! She quickly texted back,
It’s a non date! ;)
Jiwoo felt happier than she had felt before. This was the first time she had been asked on a date since high school, but she technically was just going out with a friend. Or at least that’s what she would tell anyone that asked. She sighed and fell back on her bed as Irene finished her shower and walked in.
“Oh, you look like you had a great day. I thought you would have been a lot more grumpy when we got back, but you seem happier than Joy was today!”
Jiwoo smiled at her, “It was just another day. Like any other.”
But hopefully it would lead to something more. At least, Jiwoo hoped so!
