You've lost your soul I can't let go You know everything that made me whole
Sometimes if I'm scared an imaginary monster is following me I walk slower to assert dominance
It’s official. The first house we ever bought belongs to someone else. Eleven years ago we bought our first home. And though we moved and had tenants and moved back in that time, it was were we brought home most of our pets, it’s where we brought home our babies. We have eight years of memories in that house.
There are people who’ll never know that the basement is lilac because my husband and his parents thought it was tan and nearly finished the basement by the time I pointed out they used the paint from the upstairs bathroom.
Never know about how our rabbit trapped himself in the bathroom and scratched out the drywall.
About the hideous pink carpeting.
About how many screen doors have been replaced thanks to our one dog.
We’ll have be content to just remember where our first took their first steps. Had first holidays. Their room. Moments in time captured or already forgotten that have made us who we are.
Our new place is nice, needs some updating and I can’t wait to start by getting rid of the ghost/demon/monster that my first now thinks is downstairs and is causing them refusing to use their playroom. I don’t believe in such things, but if I’m wrong I’m going to beat the crap out of it because this is my home and it needs to go

Still me at 24 years old.
Imaginary ghibli-esque eldritch monster: *following me around*
My Bipolar ass: if I name him he'll be less scary...he is now called Brian
Brian the monster: *suddenly seems 800% more real
My Bipolar ass: well fuck...
The only thing that matters is you and me
