people seemed to enjoy my moshanglings so i thought i could share this... short comic... which appeals significantly less to the masses because it doesn't feature moshang at all but i don't really care... i hope everyone likes my ocs anyways. this is them as teens !... 14, 15-ish...?

浩明 (Hàomíng): the eldest. he's the sensitive type... shy, timid, and not very good with people. he doesn't like being left alone so he's almost always next to one of his brothers or parents. he's also terribly averse to violence, mostly because it kind of freaks him out and makes him anxious lol. However! it should be said that while he is small and tender-hearted, he's actually the strongest of the three from a combat standpoint (he's also probably the most emotionally mature). especially as a kid, he was very whiny and clingy, but he did try to rein that back a bit as he got older. still sensitive, and quite prone to being startled and scared by little things, but um... well, he tries his best to act his age.

浩然 (Hàorán): the middle child. surprisingly sociable for someone whose parents are both pitiful introverts! he expresses himself freely, and... he definitely has a lot to express. he's very chatty and seemingly doesn't have a single ounce of reserve, regardless of how well he knows the person he's talking to. he seems to have an air of impatience about him, like he's always really eager to do or say something and is just barely containing himself. he's also very, very protective of haoming and it takes an unusual amount of courage to stop himself from fighting his brother's battles.

浩洋 (Hàoyáng): the youngest. a tornado, hurricane, and snowstorm all packaged into one guy. like haoran, he lacks impulse control. the main difference is that instead of charming everyone and making tons of friends, he just constantly causes as much chaos as physically possible. quite frankly, he is difficult to get along with. luckily, he's not trying to be liked anyways (...arguable)! in general, he prefers being alone. he's very irritable, and surprisingly sensitive to having his words misconstrued. he admires haoming and tries his utmost to make him fight a lot (put that power to use!!! i want to see it, let me see it!!!!!!), much to haoran's chagrin.

haoran and haoyang argue about haoming, like, a lot. haoyang doesn't sugarcoat his words or check his tone, so when he expresses concern about haoming's unwillingness to fight and how That Might Kill Him, it pretty much always sounds inflammatory and comes off as a huge insult (he seems to have inherited mobei-jun's inability to say things in ways that can be comprehended by others). haoran naturally comes to haoming's defense and everything escalates quickly. even if haoyang was initially trying to make a genuine observation, he tends to inadvertently confirm haoran's accusations by blowing up when he's confronted for saying something out of line 😅 typically this all ends with haoming wailing and crying for their parents, who must inevitably swoop in and save the day, lol. usually, haoming actually does understand to some degree what haoyang is trying to say, but by the time haoran steps in to argue about it, it's pretty much too late. i mean, haoming will immediately start bawling and thusly lose his ability to articulate any complex thoughts beyond "babaaaaaa a-dieeee 😭😭😭😭!!!!". things can only be reconciled with a mediator in place to make haoran and haoyang stay quiet and let haoming calm down enough to speak his piece, uuusually in defense of haoyang...

it should be said that haoran and haoyang DO care for each other! i mean, they really, really do!!! their personalities are just... kind of misaligned. when these more serious topics don't come up, they're actually able to get along without too much trouble, albeit haoyang does find haoran's incessant talking a bit annoying. it all definitely improves as they get older and start to realize that maybe they were both feeding into it equal parts. meanwhile haoming is like "You guys JUST figured that out???" ... his hands are really full with his xiao-ran and xiao-yang... give him peace, give him peace!!!

compared to the insane feudal disputes previously typical of the mobei clan's children, it's... really nothing much to be concerned about. our mobei-jun was lucky enough to be an only child, but not every generation was like that, and even he wasn't safe from his extended family. so... it's really important to him that his kids are willing to protect each other and won't incite any major conflicts (especially regarding the throne). when it gets down to it, if any of the kids were in danger, the others would be hard-pressed not to wage war on the world to fix it... even if the danger were a common cold. Hm? What do you mean a runny nose doesn't warrant going to war? No, we WILL be going to war...
