it’s funny that sha hualing’s little crush on binghe actually stayed on track initially despite binghe’s pointed lack of interest Because even though that spark was there before, it’s somehow COMPLETELY faded away by the time she’s collecting cultivators for binghe to feed off of… she’s just so fucking fed up with his bullshit. there’s no space to be horny when all junshang ever does is throw tantrums, be unreasonable, and force you to do shit far beyond your job description with zero added benefits 😬
since the systems are powered by luo binghe, it could be assumed that shang qinghua’s system didn’t boot up at all until binghe was born, right…? then, since his system was already around when he met mobei at 17, binghe must’ve been born by then. in other words, that age difference can’t be any more than 17 years 🤔
it’s important to me in any svsss au that shen yuan’s personality stays just a little bitchy. he’s a kind person, of course… completely different from shen jiu, but it bothers me when people push shen yuan into such a Good Soft Boy™ box just to contrast him further from shen jiu. he can… he can be a bit of a snarky bitch. he IS one. this doesn’t at all negate the fact that he is also a legitimately selfless and compassionate person who cares deeply for others. i just hate to see him be flattened into some bubbly, optimistic archetype when it just… does not suit him.
i feel like a large part of his appeal is the fact that he’s honestly just a regular guy with empathy and a decent personality, and somehow within pidw that sort of person so few and far between that he ended up inadvertently becoming the jianghu’s #1 most romanceable man. despite that, he’s not nearly as elegant as he pretends to be, and he is certainly not a shining beacon of positivity… no, he’s just a normal person, complete with a normal amount of bitterness and irritability. he’s nothing like shen jiu, but he’s still very much a poser in his own right.
i really like when mobei-jun acts utterly inconsiderate and thoughtless. it’s not like… well, it sort of is like he doesn’t respect shang qinghua, but… i mean, however much he cares about how qinghua feels, he’s still really genuinely bad at comprehending any of it. he’ll spirit qinghua away on a whim just because he wants his company… if he sees something nice, he’ll drag qinghua over without thinking twice just because he wants to share it with him.
does it ever occur to him to ask qinghua BEFORE kidnapping him? no, of course not! he likes qinghua very much, wants to please him, to spend wonderful quality time together forever—nevermind that his definition of “quality time” is awfully dubious—and he’s sure that qinghua would agree to that, so why ask? and, sure, if he were to ask …Does Shang Qinghua wish to spend quality time with this King?… certainly, the answer would be an enthusiastic yes. it’s just that no sane person would ever agree to such a thing if they knew it meant being teleported to the summit of a frozen mountain peak, or immediately before some horrible beast of the tundra, or any other of mobei-jun’s many unusual date spots.
it really isn’t that he doesn’t care. he cares a great deal, actually. he’s just painfully dense, a little stupid, and possibly incapable of ever fully grasping what shang qinghua actually likes without being told, very directly, in such excruciating detail that not even the world’s worst idiot (ice demon) could misunderstand it.

people seemed to enjoy my moshanglings so i thought i could share this... short comic... which appeals significantly less to the masses because it doesn't feature moshang at all but i don't really care... i hope everyone likes my ocs anyways. this is them as teens !... 14, 15-ish...?

浩明 (Hàomíng): the eldest. he's the sensitive type... shy, timid, and not very good with people. he doesn't like being left alone so he's almost always next to one of his brothers or parents. he's also terribly averse to violence, mostly because it kind of freaks him out and makes him anxious lol. However! it should be said that while he is small and tender-hearted, he's actually the strongest of the three from a combat standpoint (he's also probably the most emotionally mature). especially as a kid, he was very whiny and clingy, but he did try to rein that back a bit as he got older. still sensitive, and quite prone to being startled and scared by little things, but um... well, he tries his best to act his age.
浩然 (Hàorán): the middle child. surprisingly sociable for someone whose parents are both pitiful introverts! he expresses himself freely, and... he definitely has a lot to express. he's very chatty and seemingly doesn't have a single ounce of reserve, regardless of how well he knows the person he's talking to. he seems to have an air of impatience about him, like he's always really eager to do or say something and is just barely containing himself. he's also very, very protective of haoming and it takes an unusual amount of courage to stop himself from fighting his brother's battles.
浩洋 (Hàoyáng): the youngest. a tornado, hurricane, and snowstorm all packaged into one guy. like haoran, he lacks impulse control. the main difference is that instead of charming everyone and making tons of friends, he just constantly causes as much chaos as physically possible. quite frankly, he is difficult to get along with. luckily, he's not trying to be liked anyways (...arguable)! in general, he prefers being alone. he's very irritable, and surprisingly sensitive to having his words misconstrued. he admires haoming and tries his utmost to make him fight a lot (put that power to use!!! i want to see it, let me see it!!!!!!), much to haoran's chagrin.
haoran and haoyang argue about haoming, like, a lot. haoyang doesn't sugarcoat his words or check his tone, so when he expresses concern about haoming's unwillingness to fight and how That Might Kill Him, it pretty much always sounds inflammatory and comes off as a huge insult (he seems to have inherited mobei-jun's inability to say things in ways that can be comprehended by others). haoran naturally comes to haoming's defense and everything escalates quickly. even if haoyang was initially trying to make a genuine observation, he tends to inadvertently confirm haoran's accusations by blowing up when he's confronted for saying something out of line 😅 typically this all ends with haoming wailing and crying for their parents, who must inevitably swoop in and save the day, lol. usually, haoming actually does understand to some degree what haoyang is trying to say, but by the time haoran steps in to argue about it, it's pretty much too late. i mean, haoming will immediately start bawling and thusly lose his ability to articulate any complex thoughts beyond "babaaaaaa a-dieeee 😭😭😭😭!!!!". things can only be reconciled with a mediator in place to make haoran and haoyang stay quiet and let haoming calm down enough to speak his piece, uuusually in defense of haoyang...
it should be said that haoran and haoyang DO care for each other! i mean, they really, really do!!! their personalities are just... kind of misaligned. when these more serious topics don't come up, they're actually able to get along without too much trouble, albeit haoyang does find haoran's incessant talking a bit annoying. it all definitely improves as they get older and start to realize that maybe they were both feeding into it equal parts. meanwhile haoming is like "You guys JUST figured that out???" ... his hands are really full with his xiao-ran and xiao-yang... give him peace, give him peace!!!
compared to the insane feudal disputes previously typical of the mobei clan's children, it's... really nothing much to be concerned about. our mobei-jun was lucky enough to be an only child, but not every generation was like that, and even he wasn't safe from his extended family. so... it's really important to him that his kids are willing to protect each other and won't incite any major conflicts (especially regarding the throne). when it gets down to it, if any of the kids were in danger, the others would be hard-pressed not to wage war on the world to fix it... even if the danger were a common cold. Hm? What do you mean a runny nose doesn't warrant going to war? No, we WILL be going to war...

They are all boys and qinghua was a little bummed at first because Why does cucumber get a sweet adorable daughter while i have THREE of THESE THINGS? ...but the little beasts grew on him eventually
