Lion Secondary with Bird Model or Snake Secondary?

If anyone see this, I’ve read about SHC for a long time, but never posted until now. I already know I’m a Lion Primary, but I’m still not sure what my secondary is, other than I have an improvisational secondary with a bird secondary model and a badger secondary model/performance.  If I am a Snake, I don’t do multi-player well, but I do wonder if I just exist in neutral most of the time or it’s just battering-ram Lion or some kind of rapid-fire Bird.. Examples of single-player problem-solving: While cooking, I don’t always follow the recipe or I’ll substitute with what I have. One time I was making stuffed peppers and accidentally put too much tomato sauce into the rice. I ended up throwing out that batch and substituting salsa instead for the tomato part. It’s also not unusual for me to throw together random things for soups, stews, etc. If I don’t feel like cooking, I’ll just keep things on hand for wraps and sandwiches or premade things like carrots and dip as a side. The skin on my hands were dry and I had run out of lotion. I ended up using facial moisturizer as it was the middle of the night. In high school biology, we were supposed to create a model of the inside of a cell. The night before the assignment was due, I got the idea to buy a cookie cake, some frosting, and spent a couple of hours creating a cell. I hope these are good enough examples, but I can clarify or answer more questions if anyone has a question or even sees this, lol.

Hi! One thing that's been on my mind lately is that we know certain jobs tend to... Cater more to specific secondaries. As an improvisational secondary who intends on taking on a science career, I know I'm going to have to work more with my bird model at some point. But I've been a bit insecure wondering if maybe I'm going to have to change myself too much to fit into this job. Is there, by any chance, more improv secondaries working on this sort of fields in the community? I'd love to hear their experiences with it!

Any improvisational secondaries have thoughts on this?

What's the difference between a Lion Snake who feels uncomfortable with lying and so tells the truth but twists it or frames it in favorable ways and a Double Lion who doesn't lie because she's a Lion secondary?

First off, whether you consider lying to be morally okay or not is determined by your primary. So, the Lion/Snake avoids lying because they consider it to be morally wrong, and either finds twisting the truth to be morally okay or considers whatever advantage that comes from it to outweigh whatever guilt they feel over twisting things. In contrast, the Double Lion in this scenario is uncomfortable lying because of their secondary, not their primary. Lion secondaries feel safest in their own skin, when they're being true to themself. Oftentimes, lying is contradictory to that feeling. It makes the Lion secondary feel anxious/vulnerable/uncomfortable/etc. But it should be noted that if their primary feels that it's okay to lie in certain situations, the Lion secondary may lie without that discomfort (for example, if they truly believe that lying is the best way to protect someone). As long as they are being true to themself and their primary, there is no conflict.

How can I decide if I'm a Lion secondary or a Snake in neutral? Burned for sure, either way. I don't really "mask" unless I'm doing my overly polite face for strangers or if I'm trying to trick my friends for a laugh. Today a lady told me she can't wait to move South to be with "her kind of people" and inside I was so weirded out by that comment but I just smiled and talked about how I love Charleston. Is this Snake? Normal tactfulness? IDK

Well, no, having tact doesn't exclude you from being a Lion secondary. Lions can have tact. Lions can lie. Lions can have secrets, and so on. The trademark of the social/multiplayer part of the Lion secondary is the need to be themself. If being polite and tactful doesn't conflict with the Lion's sense of authenticity, there is no reason that they wouldn't do as you did in the situation you describe. In fact, changing the topic by focusing on something you can be honest about could be evidence that you feel more comfortable and can speak more freely when you're being your authentic self.

What you should ask yourself is how you feel about doing that overly polite face for strangers. Does it feel wrong on some level? Or is it simply what you need to do to get through those situations? How would you feel if you started to get closer to one of those strangers? Would you drop the polite face because it would feel wrong, like a lie, otherwise? Or would you drop the mask because you've come to trust the person enough to show your true self? In other words, a mask to a Lion is a deception and to a Snake it's protection. If you can figure out how you feel about your polite face, you should have your answer.

Hi there! If you don't mind, would you talk a bit about executive dysfunction in improvisational secondaries? I feel like maybe it's a bit harder on us

I’d love to hear some testimony on this. Most of the people with executive dysfunction issues that I know are Built secondaries - I think because those issues are more obvious *younger* on them. Improvisers are okay pulling off last-minute solutions that don’t require prep or planning, they’re more okay getting other people to help with (or even do) their work, and they’re better at finding ways around problems and around tasks. Like, not everyone needs to keep a daily planner to function? The big thing I see with Improvisational secondaries is actually knowledge gaps and impostor syndrome.

I wonder if there's a correlation between Improvisational secondaries and being a Perceiver in MBTI vs. Built secondaries and being a Judger in MBTI.
