ok y’all it’s inktober it’s the one time of the year I get the motivation to draw. No guarantees I’ll make it to the end of the month but you get my current hyperfixation, also known as Calvin’s From The Fog. Season 3 just dropped on YouTube go watch I love this bro’s a great storyteller

Inktober 2024 — Day 1 — Backpack

So this year’s Inktober is already off to a rough start. Yesterday was rough for me and by the time I got around to working on my drawing, I was exhausted, it was really late in the day, and it wasn’t coming out the way I wanted it to. By the time I was mostly done with it, it was already near midnight and there were still things I was unhappy about. I knew by then that a good night’s sleep would help me think more clearly rather than trying to force things to work. So today I worked on it some more and got it a point where it’s decently what I envisioned. It’s not perfect, there are still things I wish I could have fixed, but then I remembered this is supposed to be for fun. It’s okay to not be perfect. Better to do your best and roll with it rather than dwell and nitpick to the point you end up doing nothing. (Wow, I did not mean to get all inspirational there :P)

So onto the actual drawing! This year I’m going to be doing crossovers for each drawing. For today, I chose Izuku from My Hero Academia and Grim from Twisted Wonderland since that’s a crossover I’ve recently been obsessed with. I love the idea that Grim would hang out in Izuku’s backpack at times when he’s not supposed to, thus why Izuku looks so surprised. Also Izuku’s wearing his old uniform from before joining UA because in my mind, Izuku would follow the Twisted Wonderland story without having One for All. It makes sense in my head. Let me know what you think. All in all, I like how it turned out, I just struggled with the line art on this one.

Also, am I a little crazy thinking this year’s prompts seemed strangely connected to one another? Maybe I’m just overthinking things as I always do (if my rambling above didn’t make that apparent enough). Anyway, I’m going to start working on Day 2’s prompt right away, so here’s hoping things can only improve from here.

Ok I know I drew a satchel but let me have this

For anyone who doesn’t know, this scene is straight from page 254 in “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” where Harry realises Tom riddle’s diary is not as it seems.

Side note, I was gonna finish this on time but 1. My first attempt got ruined by circumstance and 2. I was drawing this while working so I literally didn’t have the time. Anyway, yay!!! First drawing of inktober! I really like how it turned out so I’m off to a great start already.
