Picked up a lot of fantasy this week! Anyone read any of these?
I'm reading this novel called The Innocent Mage by Karen Miller
If you guys loved BBCs Merlin, the Innocent Mage has the same sort of story and character dynamic between a mage and a prince.
Awakened Mage
Book title: The Awakened Mage
Author: Karen Miller
Publisher: Orbit
Publication year: 2007
I’d likened The Awakened Mage to a TV series in 2008 by the title ‘Merlin’. There is so much resemblance to the characters in The Awakened Mage and the storyline in Merlin. Two Kingdoms played a significant role in the progression of this story by Karen Miller. The Olken and the Doranen. The Olken…

The Innocent Mage by Karen Miller
It finished in a cliff hanger!!! Gahhhhh I hate those! At least I have the second book ready to read right away or I'd be mad. It's an interesting story and premise, prince born without any magic into a magical society where he's seen as a cripple. He befriends one of the "normals" that don't have magic and they develop a great friendship. Asher is probably my favourite character. He gets right to the point, doesn't care what others think of him, and would protect those he cares about until the bitter end. I'm curious as to how he becomes a Mage or how he saves the kingdom. Morg is quite the bad guy and his hatred for everything and everyone is all encompassing even after centuries. I'm looking forward to the next instalment.
if anybody feels a lack of johnlock-style hell you can always read innocent mage because it’s basically the same thing except with magic
The Innocent Mage ended so horribly!!!!
Somehow I saw the whole possession thing the second Durum wanted to take Barl's book from the library even though everyone told him not to
It was his fault, really.
