Do you ever just remember that Steven Moffat wrote a same sex couple in Doctor Who that is supposed to basically be Watson and Holmes and then he had the opportunity to write BBC Sherlock with Mark Gatiss whose favorite movie is Private Life of Sherlock Holmes where Holmes is a repressed gay man and when reflecting on the film Gatiss said "The relationship between Sherlock and Watson is treated beautifully; Sherlock effectively falls in love with him in the film, but it's so desperately unspoken."

And then you look at Season 4 and just

John: [takes a deep breath] I don't want to marry Mary.

Sherlock: [gasps]

Sherlock: Wait, why am I gasping? I already knew that.

the joy surrounding ofmd is how the sherlock fandom should have been celebrating in 2017 and it will never not break my heart knowing we could have had that. i’ll never forget seeing my dash full of devastated people feeling like they were lied to and baited and made to feel like “who they really are doesn’t matter”. i saw people leave fandom or take long mental health breaks because of s4. yeah we like to poke fun at mofftiss but what they did affected people in a very real way. ofmd is affecting people in a very real way. idk it’s just so nice to see people rejoicing rather than feeling like they were slapped in the face. also mofftiss can suck it because just look at how many articles are talking about the numbers this new show is bringing in. i hope it stings.

You cannot convince me that Sherlock didn't say "Sherlock's actually a girl's name" because he knew that if he were a girl, he could be with John

The way Sherlock waits on the top step of the stairs until John has hobbled his way up, and the gay little panic that sets in when John says the place looks like a burning trash pile... both get me every single time
