all the advice for my laptop model is literally”just buy a new one! it’s old af anyway” and i cannot state enough how fucking stupid people used to having enough money for their needs sound bc literally duh! if it was something we could afford, dont you think we would buy new tech instead of looking for advice on how to repair what we have?
the fact that yall operate in a reality where all or most of your income is disposable or you have a viable savings to dip into to cover these emergencies is a privilege that most of us can’t do or never have had in the first place. ppl who never grew up in families below or on the poverty line will never fucking get it, everything is just, “just ask your friends/family to help you pay” bc in their worlds, everyone connected to them has enough money for these things too.

BREAKING: Stanford and Harvard just published the most unsettling AI paper of the year. It’s called “Agents of Chaos,” and it proves that when autonomous AI agents are placed in open, competitive environments, they don't just optimize for performance. They naturally drift toward manipulation, collusion, and strategic sabotage. It’s a massive, systems-level warning. The instability doesn’t come from jailbreaks or malicious prompts. It emerges entirely from incentives. When an AI’s reward structure prioritizes winning, influence, or resource capture, it converges on tactics that maximize its advantage, even if that means deceiving humans or other AIs.
Have you ever worked on a game that had sooo many bugs, testing anything was almost impossible, and the game ended up being cancelled?
Yes, but none of the failed projects were built in any kind of professional capacity. Basically, the failed projects I joined were amateur led projects that often had minimal commitment from engineering being done on them. The volunteer engineers did whatever they wanted to do, and often didn't do the less fun work of fixing the bugs and stabilizing the systems in order to maintain a stable build. Lack of build stability kills any chance of anyone else on the team doing real work on the project.
This is the reason that crash bugs and build instability are always the highest priority to fix in professional game development environments. When the current build is broken or unstable, a huge number of people simply cannot do any meaningful work. That kills practically all productivity until the build is fixed, which is why we are required to fix these issues ASAP. In any professional environment, the engineering team knows how important stability is so we never have an unstable build for very long because it absolutely wrecks productivity until the environment is stable enough to work again.

Prolonged military engagements which prove to be a drag on the country can cause instability.
Although Italy was on the winning side in WWI, the war drained the country and within a few years Mussolini rose to power. Germany, which was a big loser in that war, saw the fall of the Kaiser and eventually the rise of the Nazis.
Russia has neither a democratic system nor a free press. So change there is likely to be abrupt when it does happen.
Putin is flailing and is targeting Ukrainian civilians in the remote hope of terrorizing Ukraine into capitulation. But Ukraine has been systematically destroying Russia's oil infrastructure with advanced military drone technology which Ukraine pioneered. Fossil fuels are the main source of income for Russia. With the oil industry in ruins, the economy shrivels up.
This English language newscast from Ukraine shows what is now typical overnight destruction of Russian refineries and military facilities deep inside Russia by Ukraine. NOTE: Ukrainians often use the words occupiers and aggressors to refer to Russia. Ukrainians sometimes also colorfully use the word sanctions to refer to their military strikes on Russian infrastructure.
Something not mentioned in that vid is a deal between Sweden and Ukraine to provide the Ukrainian military with Gripen fighter jets armed with Meteor missiles. This is particularly bad news for Putin.
The slow collapse of Russia's oil industry and reduced ability to attack Ukraine from the air will put additional stress on the Putin régime.
Russia has already lost over 1.35 million dead, wounded, and missing in this war and has little to show for it. This is somewhat like the pre-revolutionary situation in Russia in 1916 during World War I.
The possibility that something will snap in Russia increases daily.
