He stares as Wolf leaves, box in his hands, stares a little more... and GOES TO TOWN on the paper. Rips it apart like a three-year-old on Christmas morning.
He takes the tool kit in his hands and carefully opens it to make sure nothing falls out if there’s a loose piece in there. Everything is nice and tightly secure, and Jay picks the interchangeable screwdriver out of it. Weighs it in his hand. Tests the two-way mechanism, listens to how it clicks... And lets out a satisfied hum. Oh, he’ll have fun with this.
As for the other part? ...well, he’s already putting the Hello Skitty boxers on his head and he’s running out into the hallway, giggling like an idiot.
A wall might stop him soon if his ‘hat’ falls in front of his eyes, though.

What surprised Alan the most was this guy was mostly deaf when they first met, so it’s nice that he can somewhat sign for the guy.
Even if he works under Jay, Alan likes to chill out and hang with Wolf a bit....even though probably both him and Jay would torment him.
If he’s ever made to run errands for Jay, he’ll always ask Wolf if he wants anything. He doesn’t have to, but he genuinely wants to.
Wolf is the whole reason that Alan is even in Team Aqua to begin with, so he’s thankful that he has a lot of work.

These two are able to hold two conversations at the same time—one entirely aloud/relying on lip-reading, while the other is signed. While it’s an interesting feat, it requires a lot of focus and brain power, so they only generally do it to slide a few comments in about something or someone before naturally going back to only one conversation.
Jay never holds back from saying exactly what he thinks to Wolf, without embellishments or even trying to soften the blow. When it’s about someone else or some event happening, that’s normally cool, but sometimes the comment is to tell Wolf off about something, and there’s never any white gloves. While sometimes it’s taken in good stride, there’s a few times when that caused an actual fight between them.
Wolf knows very well of Jay’s touch aversion, and they both have a quick sign to ask if it’s okay to touch/confirm that it is. The general consensus is that it’s not okay, so asking before has become more or less a thing.
While Jay’s promotion to admin did make it so that they’d see each other less often, with Jay now having his private quarters, their friendship seems a bit less strained. Jay being an introvert, having shared dorms and being constantly in someone’s company, Wolf or other, was draining his energy. While he’s still cranky, it’s like that little bit of forced distance between them is actually allowing him to get more comfortable and gave him more room to breathe, and allows him to better appreciate the moments he gets with Wolf and other acquaintances.
