I know I said I'd stop with social justice stuff on here cause it puts me into an ocd spiral, but I am so fucking close to going off on anyone who says shit about "real women" right now. I'm soooooo fucking close. If you wanna start measuring every fucking hormone in everyone's body, the definitions of "male" and "female" are gonna get too narrow for any of us to fit. The definition will keep getting more and more exclusive until you aren't included in it anymore either, motherfuckers.

Thoughts on “non-passing/barely passing” trans people using intersex/hormonal conditions as a cover up to explain their appearance in order to protect themselves? Im perisex and do this personally and I wanna know if it’s wrong of me to do so, because if it is I’ll stop and would like to apologize for my ignorance.

I mean, I wanna say it’s fine because I use being intersex as an explanation for my appearance as well (because it is, lol). And I guess there’s no real harm in it as long as you don’t try to actually pass as intersex, interject into our conversations, co-opt our terminology, etc.

But there’s kind of the implication there that, because intersex people have an “excuse” for our appearances, we get let off the hook, so to speak; that, because we don’t choose to look the way we do, perisexists/cissexists/binarists won’t be casually derogatory toward or maintain a bigoted image of us. Trans people aren’t more oppressed or more likely to face bigotry than intersex people because HRT is a choice. It’s not really a way of “protecting” yourself so much as deflecting bigotry for more bigotry, but misdirected this time.

I guess if it’s a method that works for you in keeping yourself safe, it’s fine. Just remember that intersex people don’t somehow have it easier because we can “explain” our appearances to perisexists. They still view us as disordered medical anomalies.

Also, I’m just one intersex person, and there are a lot of different experiences and perspectives within our community, so maybe don’t rely on just my advice either?

Gender

Aster was born intersex, the details of which I will not disclose on here because I will attempt to be sfw for a little while longer at least, but know that I take the accuracy very seriously... and I'm always open to feedback, since me personally, am not intersex.

That being said, he identifies as demiboy, feeling like a boy, sure, but also really identifies as non-binary as well. What specific gender? All of them, and also none. Maybe their own special flavour? It's not that important, but he goes by he/they pronouns, and demiboy feels Right.

Since he was born, his dad has really pushed for him to get surgery, wishing to adjust his body to make it "female". Aster's mum was aggressively against this, and fought tooth and nail to give him the chance to make his own decisions with their own body when he got old enough. The marriage fell apart, and Aster still sometimes struggles with his dysphoria and almost something akin to guilt with his decisions.

But he's determined to love his body the way it is, because he recognises that while he gets dysphoric being seen as a woman, it's not really connected to his body... But more so how people choose to see and perceive them. As long as you see him as a non-binary person, or simply a man, then he kinda loves his chest and feminine get ups, and loves to push limits and celebrate his own body. It's all about the respect.

When you don't, he starts to blame himself, rather than their unwillingness to respect him.

ORIENTATION

There's honestly not much to say here. Aster is pansexual and romantic, and loves to sleep around with just about anybody. However, an unfortunate amount of people that he's prepositioned, have ended up declining his offer once they got undressed, feeling intimidated or weirded out by his body.

It's a damn shame though, because nobody loves as hard as Aster does. And while he loves to sleep around and have flings and flirt with anything that moves, they are incredibly faithful and incredibly loving once they make a connection with somebody. You just gotta catch him first <3

I hate twitter. I looked up complete androgen insensitivity syndrome on it hoping to find others with CAIS but it’s all just people being horribly ignorant, intersexist and transphobic or people trying to use our existance as a gotcha for transphobes.

Don’t do either of this, please.

Reading the section on gender development in my Developmental psych class is so painful. Researchers are so giddy to find information that gender is biological and make bizzare claims.

One paragraph literally states that boys' aversion to girls toys likely comes from somewhere biological... its delusional.

Also dear god the lengths they go not to acknowledge trans and intersex people are impressive. They choose "genital deformity" instead of intersexuality... its alarming.
