Sunday 26th April – The Scottish Play
Three women sit side by side in an ice cream shop. They are facing the window, sitting in height order, eating their ice creams in complete synchronicity. The sun is setting outside, and throwing the shadow of ‘ICES’ onto the women as they lick their ice creams.
First woman: This ice cream place is super good
I’m glad I got a double scoop
Second woman: It’s the best one in the town
I’ve had my share of ice cream too.
Third woman: I want to come here every day
It’s sweet and creamy – I can’t resist.
First woman: I miss you two when you’re not here
Why can’t you come here all the time?
Second woman: Next time we come times will have changed.
We’ll all be different women too.
Third woman: Can we stop talking in iambic pentameter yet? I know we’re three women and this is Scotland, but is it necessary to construct a modern day Macbeth around the consumption of ice cream?
