Whumpee didn't respond (not like whumper expected them to anyways). Whumper gave a small smile down at their favorite pet as they grabbed the shovel from the trunk of the car.

"It's a shame really, how this happened. You used to be so good for me."

They looked down one last time at their still unmoving captive. "If only you had behaved and i wouldn't have to do this." The whumper huffed as they sunk the shovel down into the earth, pleased that the soil here wasn't too difficult to dig into.

That would make the grave much easier to dig - and to fill.
