Mmmm okok but what about a whumpee who comes back Fine.

Like they’re rescued and they’re so Not Fine it’s clear to everyone that knows them that they’re so unbelievably Not Fine but Whumpee is insisting that they are Fine. So fine in fact that they’re develop new coping mechanisms for their trauma and they just get worse and worse and now they have double trauma but the are Actually Fine.

OR they use this new trauma to distract themselves and their caretaker from their first trauma. Like hahaha look at me and this new and current pain I guess we better deal with that than why I actively chose to look for this pain and this person to hurt me in the first place!

Bonus points if Caretaker can see right through them and can only watch as their loved one plays games with themselves until they finally loose it and have a complete and total breakdown

i’m trying this thing called the cigarette challenge. it’s where i have a pack of cigarettes and each day i go outside and sit in the sun and smoke one and then go back inside. every day. until the pack is empty. it’s for mental health reasons btw.
