Summary:

Jesper will get back with new bruises on some nights. He won’t say anything, just strip off most of his clothes and climb in bed, and Wylan won’t say anything either, just burrow into Jesper’s warmth and silently examine the lines of his face in the dark when Jesper falls asleep.

yes, you. i’ve been in your brain and i heard you thinking about a kcd fic where henry is a girl disguised as a boy, and so is istvan, but hans stays a boy

i wrote it for you. it’s about 140k and it’s complete. i know you were thinking about all the different ways a girl henry in disguise would solve the same problems a boy henry would across both games. and how her relationship with radzig would be really different, with her having to constantly prove her use to him so he can keep her in his service, leading her to make some extreme decisions. and how hans would react to henry revealing she’s a girl, and how that would change his relationship with her on both a gender and a class level. and how the narrative foil of a girl istvan would change and add more layers to this story. i also heard you thinking about how the relationship between katherine and henry could’ve been written better in the game so i redid that too, with more layers as a girl henry in disguise interacts with a mistrustful katherine, in a disguise of her own. rosa’s here too, i know you wanted to see more of her so i had her write a story about a lady knight in disguise and give girl henry something to think about.

you probably have questions. like, how did i know exactly what you wanted, and what am i doing inside your mind? and how is this story about a girl with weird feelings about gender, identity, fear of the future, resentment and fear of her father, insecurity and strangeness of her body in and out of armor, how is all this somehow relating to you even though you might not be a girl, or a boy, or both, or neither, and you may or may not love your father, and you may or may not be comfortable in your own body? yeah i also had these thoughts while i was writing it, thats why i know you will understand
