my identity has officially surpassed humanity. romantic and sexual attraction? what is that? I only have the power of friendship. gender label? I have none. I call myself whatever I want. actually, I'm a deity now.
is this ascension? have I evolved
OH. MY. FUCKING. GOD.
Ok, so new Helluva Boss dropped. And guys.... (click read more if you don't care for spoilers)
new david video spoilers (initial thoughts)!
okay first off lemme just, AHHHHHHHHHHHH
second, there's so much to unpack here i dont even know where to start (i'm already listening to this video for the second time and i don't plan on stopping)
when we first meet david, it's an understatement to say that he had his guard up and for good reason. he hadn't yet processed his fathers death and in doing so, he was very emotionally guarded and vulnerable. however as their relationship progressed, little by little, we have watched layers of those guards come down all with the help of angel. he says in this video:
"until I knew you, i didn't know what it could be like. to share yourself with another person like we do.... the thought of that kind of vulnerability used to be so scary. because it led to hurt. a lot of it. but with you, its never felt like weakness. it's such a source of strength.... when i'm with you, i'm not an alpha, i'm not a friend, i'm not a competitor — i'm david. and i thought i'de lost him a long time ago. you changed everything. your love changed everything and, and i know I didn't always make it easy. but I love you so much."
he's finally, completely, inarguably moved on. he's healed. david says himself, "your love changed everything," and it's honestly such a beautiful thing and it makes me want to sob
also, the little reference to the video where he says i love you for the first time: "why is that funny to you? it is not weird to say thank you to that, you snot. would you rather i ask if you’re hungry?” DWEBFEWBF I LOVE HIM SO MUCH YALL
