1 month to go

This child has decided that they needed to press their head really hard on my pelvic area so that I can feel their little head and press their legs and feet really hard against the top of my stomach and organs. Multiple times this morning.

Like why... You only needed to do that once. And also my work alarm hadn't gone off yet so there was zero reason to wake me up like that

Baby flipped at some point the previous week so they're head down now and hopefully will stay that way. 27 days left and I'm physically (body wise) ready to be done.

I don't know what to do about our remaining embryos. I've promised my therapist I would wait until after baby is 2 years old to decide but I don't know if I can do this again. Having to go back to the fear of the unknown, the waiting, the medicines, the hope. Yes it wouldn't be as difficult because we have our embryos but trying to do all of that while also raising a toddler and working full-time and being 2 years older than I am now. I just don't know.

The political unrest in my country doesn't help either. My child is biracial and will be born into a country that wants to deny the devastations of the past. That wants to no longer teach the devastations of the past. There were already many things that weren't taught and now I fear we will have to teach everything but there may be a greater cost to do so.

How do you explain to your child that there are and always will be people that hate them because of their race. Like my parents sorta taught me but my momma also died when I was 10 so I don't really know how much more she would have told me.

I'm also really scared about giving birth. I have my husband, I have my Doula, I have great supports. I'm still just really scared. I'm scared of how I'll handle things. I'm scared of how my husband will handle things. I worried about baby not being 100% okay. I've talked about it with my therapist and my pregnant/postpartum support group so that helps a little. My baby shower is coming up next week so that should be nice.

Transfer is all done! We ended up with 4 little embryos at day 5. One has been popped in to place and the other 3 are on ice to save for later. Our dr said we have a 56% chance of success. Now here's hoping the next few days go quick...

19 weeks

In a related note, 4 months is hard. She’s super smart, learning things constantly, and growing so quickly.

We’re up to 13.5lbs and had her 4 month shots on Thursday. 2 weeks ago she had her tongue tie re-clipped by a specialist. The first dentist didn’t do enough so This one had to go under and literally rip the tissue. I cried.

She’s also teething already! 4 months and the bottom 2 are peeking through.

All combined? It’s been tough and will continue to be a rough few weeks.
