you stare hard at the sleeve on your coffee holder, the heart drawn next to your name giving you butterflies. a glance towards the barista at the counter doesn't go unnoticed by him.

jacob, according to his name tag, waved at you and chuckles as you hide your blushing face in your folded arms on the table. you could practically feel your face heating up a lot more, maybe you had steam coming out of your ears too.

which is why you were even more flabbergasted when you hear the seat across you drag on the floor. you looked up to meet jacob face-to-face. he pushes the plate with a blueberry muffin towards you, beckoning you to eat it.

he winks at you before leaving, your mouth wide open in shock. for the past 3 months of visiting the café, and silent pining, you've never interacted 'til today. the napkin beside your muffin is neatly folded, almost making you squeal when you notice his message.

i was wondering if we could hangout sometime! if you're up for it, i'm ending my shift in 10 minutes, so maybe you could wait? for me? but only if you want to of course!

“Please...please pick up.”

Jacob’s voice cracked as he spoke, frantically grabbing for his keys before shoving on his jacket. In an attempt to conceal any upcoming tears from blurring his vision, he pauses to take a deep breath. To his misfortune, his heartbeat could only raise when hearing the antagonizing sound of his phone continuously ringing against his ear, fumbling to put on his shoes.

He calls for a second and then a third time when you don’t pick up, already sitting in his car, driving. The traffic lights overtook his vision when he hit the busy streets, that being all he could see when he allowed the tears to finally flow down his cheeks. As the ringing started to fade out, Jacob couldn't stop himself from sobbing, having the surrounding noises accompany him while begging through voicemail.

“Y/N….please– I’m sorry I couldn’t be there with you- please be okay. I-I can’t—I’m stuck in traffic, but I’m coming, okay? I’m going to be there with you. You’ll be okay, I-I’ll be here. I’ll be there. Wait for me, we’ll be together...”

{3:45 p.m.} Jacob smiles at you as you eat another chocolate covered strawberry. He made sure to pack a lot seeing as you loved the treat. He liked them too. They were sweet, but not as sweet as you. His point was proven further as a little boy came up to the two of you in the middle of your date. The boy was timid as he asked you for one of the chocolate covered fruit. You widely smiled at the boy, saying a quick “of course,” before handing him a strawberry. A soft smile was on your face as you watched the child eat the dessert and that caused Jacob to smile in turn. His smile only widened as you interacted more with the kid, only one thought in his mind. You’d be a great mother one day.

“daddy! what is this?” a little girl calls out to her father and the familiar figure walks into the room where he found his daughter looking through scattered photographs with her mother on the ground.

jacob smiles fondly as he crouches down to meet his daughter’s height, looking at the photograph that his daughter, alayna, had in her hands and he recognized it to be the thanksgiving that you had announced your pregnancy with alayna five years ago. the polaroid was filled with chaos that was erupting in the background, he remembers, as he was too busy holding onto you with so much pride and joy to even notice it happening that day.

“it’s me and mommy before you were born with your uncles. they look crazy, don’t they?” he teases and a soft giggle escapes alayna’s lips before she runs back over to where you were flipping through the pictures of a familiar photobook in your hands.

it wasn’t until he decided to join you both and he noticed that the photobook that you were so immersed in was the one that you both bought together when you first started dating to save the memories.

“a penny for your thoughts?” you hear jacob say from behind you while sitting as he starts to hug your back close to his chest and places his head on your shoulder to peek at the pictures that he recognizes from your earlier years of dating.

“nope, it’d be empty because i’m just happy with reliving these memories in my head.”

12:31 - “no, no, no, he’s busy.”

“what?! that’s not like him,” kevin frowned.

“he said he had to do v-lives and stuff like that,” you shrugged, “i don’t know, but i don’t mind! i know he’s busy.”

“he’s not live right now,” kevin commented.

“okay maybe not right now. seriously?!”

“sorry, but i’m just saying.”

“what? he wouldn’t lie,” you rolled your eyes, when suddenly, the sound of a key in the lock, “wait gotta go. bye.”

“hello!” jacob called.

“hello? why are you here? i thought you were.... woah,” you chuckled, “why are you wearing a suit.”

“well go and put this on, and i’ll explain everything,” jacob smiled, handing you a bag.

you looked at his quizzically, but took the bag, rushing up to your room and getting changed into the beautiful dress and shoes, before coming back out to your prince.

“you look incredible,” jacob beamed, “but there’s one thing missing.”

you furrowed your eyebrows, looking down, “what?”

“here,” he smiled, handing you a small box.

you opened it to find a small opal ring, “what is this?”

“an eternity ring,” jacob said sheepishly.

you gasped, sliding the ring on your finger and admiring it as jacob took the box back.

“come on, let’s go,” jacob chuckled, taking your hand.

“why is everything such a rush?!” you laughed, as jacob whisked you out the door.

“i don’t know, i just want to do everything,” jacob laughed, shutting the front door behind you.

“relax,” you chuckled, taking his jaw in your hands and kissing him, “we have time, okay? look. eternity.”

jacob nodded, kissing your head, “i love you, hun.”

you smiled, “i love you too. now, shall we depart?”

jacob giggled, offering his arm, “we shall.”

[10:04am] You and Jacob have a tradition of sending each other pictures of the dogs you meet whenever you go out, which has somehow turned into an ongoing competition to see who can spot more dogs in a single weekend.

[9:12am] you wake up, lights bleeding through your curtains. In an attempt to stretch your arm, you realised there was an arm that was lazily draped across you. You then look to jacob who gave you a warm smile, the lights making him look ethereal. 'morning, sunshine'.

[8:46 pm] Jacob thought that he was going to shit himself every time that he saw you, knowing that you were the reason that his heart was beating so irregularly fast. He, however, had a plan to ask out out today and finally just tell you how he actually felt after getting words of encouragement from the other members. 

It was simple really; his plan consisting of taking you out to lunch, hanging around by the Han River and going for a walk, singing you with his guitar in his hand and singing a song to express his feelings. 

Yes, Jacob was going to stick this plan and will succeed, he thinks to himself in the third person as he was now standing in front of your dorm, heart in his stomach as he knocked on your door. 

However, it seemed as though all plans flew out the window as you opened the door, looking as amazing as you always had in his eyes and his mouth fell open a bit. 

“Why can’t I be your boyfriend already?” He blurts out randomly, realizing afterwards that his entire plan to just confess to you was left to waste as you stood in front of him with an amused look in your eyes at his sudden confession. 

You weren’t expected him to reciprocate the feelings, in all honesty, as you thought that he was too perfect for you to even be friends with. However, your thoughts seemed to have been changed as he finally confessed the feelings that you have been waiting for him to say in front of you. 

“Ask me out again, and we can consider this outing today a date with you as my boyfriend this time.”
