Nevertheless, episode 3
First impression:
Sorry for this late post.
Our 2ndmale lead. He is incredibly handsome and I’m so excited to see how he will fit into the storyline. We don’t know much about him yet, but it seems like he’s the complete opposite of Jaeeon. My first impression of him is that he is a “boy next door”/”a mother-in-law’s dream” type of character. I said after only seeing him for a few seconds serving Sol and Jiwan at the restaurant he works at.
Sol and Jiwan. Oh god I love them and I do hope they end up together. Its obvious Sol has feelings for Jiwan. We’ve known that since episode 1, but Sol is definitely unsure of if Jiwan feels the same way. I love how the writers combined Sol and Jiwan’s dates to show how they actually feel about each other.
Ugh Jaeeon!! You made me so angry in this episode. I hated that scene in the art studio where he felt the need to interrupt and show “ownership” over Nabi just because he's buttheart about someone else having her before him. It disgust me. But this anger made me pay more attention to Bitna and Kyuhyun. This sibling-like-relationship, denying they like each other, but deep down they do, is giving me life! Can we have a spin-off show???
No matter how many people say Nevertheless is a toxic drama, Nabi is dumb, & Jaeeon is such a fucking trash, I don’t care & I will treasure this drama dearly, bcs talking about it & pinning it out clearly will make us aware & know. Once we get out of this knowing stage & understand, then we can take action, hoping recognizing the red flags, no more trapping in a toxic/manipulative relationship, things we thought it’s fine & normal
Nevertheless, episode 6
First impression:
It irritates me, when I’m rooting for Dohyeok, to see how oblivious Nabi is (or acting) to his feelings for her. I loved seeing them going on trips, cycling together, going to the market - just sweet moments. Dohyeok is the sincere one, which is why I’m rooting for him, but on the other hand it annoys me how Nabi doesn’t take him seriously. Him telling her that she was his first love and Nabi just doesn’t seem to care. I loved seeing Jaeeon experiencing some good karma. You can’t play with peoples feelings and except them to come crawling when you show them a bit of interest.
Nevertheless, episode 9
First impression:
Throughout this episode we see a conflicted and unsure Nabi, who isn’t sure if Jaeeon is sincere with his feelings towards her. It’s hard to watch, because I am still unsure as the viewer if Jaeeon really does like her. I loved when Dohyeok asked Nabi,” have you felt, even once, that he sincerely likes you?” I feel like she needed to ask herself that question, because she has this longing for something that might never happen. The main highlight of this episode is obviously the raining scene outside of Nabi’s apartment. Jaeeon is drunk and jealous, not something we’ve seen before - especially this combination of jealousy, drunkenness, and aggressiveness. First red flag for me, is when he aggressively knocks out the umbrella. That doesn’t justify you being violent and aggressive towards her. Take a look in the mirror dude. Doesn’t feel nice to be on the other side huh?! I loved Nabi’s character development and how she told him that she regrets everything, but won’t blame him, because she’s also to blame. Exactly Nabi, take accountability!
Nevertheless, episode 10
First impression:
“I think I know now that I’m the one who ruined everything.” Oh, you think so. Jaeeon isn’t able to see how toxic his behavior is, whereas Nabi does. But she still puts herself in this toxic relationship. I don’t want to mention this finale episode because this is typical Kdrama recipe. In my eyes Jaeeon has not changed and I’m actually really disappointed with the main characters. The supporting characters was the only thing that kept me interested, which was annoying because I was really excited for this pairing with Han So Hee and Song Kang. All in all. I liked this drama because of the well written supporting characters, but not as much with the main characters and their storyline.
Nevertheless, episode 5
First impression
I’m so sorry for this late post. It’s because I’m on vacation - sailing and therefore don’t have internet all the time.
But boy Jaeeon is getting on my nerves. I loved when Nabi finally confronted him. “What do friends mean to you?”, exactly Nabi!! I do hope he’ll change, but I’m just not sure he will. It makes me glad she got to say her peace, but then he continues his persuading and manipulating act where he says what “the girl” wants to hear. Giving her gifts to try and persuade her into forgiving you. Ugh. Give me a break. What about sincerely apologizing to her, make up for what you did and change how you "toy around" with girls? And again, I do not like it when he moves her around with his hands like she’s some sort of puppet. Some may see it as romantic, but I definitely don’t. Here I thought I would like this character before starting to watch the drama, but nope. And then we have Jaeeon’s complete opposite (Dohyeok) who's actually giving Nabi a gift, because he thought of her and wanted to make her happy. No bad intention at all. I’m liking him more and more.
Let’s change the subject to Bitna and Kyuhyun. I’m so happy for Bitna that she finally had the courage to accept her feelings for him even though she was drunk at the time. They have one of my favorite relationship dynamics ever and I can’t wait to see how their relationship will unfold even more.
Predictions suggest that it is likely to show Na Bi and Jae Eon ending up together in the last episode, or Will she finally choose herself...
