So I just watched the trailer and something stood out to me.
These scenes in the trailer shows some sort of light coming up from presumingly the ground. We've never seen anything like it before, but I swore it looked familiar somehow.
And then I remembered this picture I saw years ago when looking at concept art of the first film.
I don't remember if this is official art, but I remember reading about storms (specifically lighting) in the floating mountains being crazy due to the magnetic currents keeping the mountains up.
In the background of the fight we can see metal and probably remains of a ship floating upwards as if they are being pulled. So now I have a theory.
A fight happens near a cluster of floating mountains, and a storm of some kind happens at the same time, probably messing with the magnetic pull of the area and causing the terrain to rise and drop at random, giving us the stakes of both the characters almost killing one another, but the environment as well.
We even have a shot of Spider almost falling to his death in what looks to be in the same area as Jake and Quaritch, so its not out of the realm of possibility.

Sitting on the lively grass you hummed, feeling a soft and gentle breeze wash over you as if it was water, you sat in a comfortable silence with yourself and Eywa, after the war between the Na’vi and the Sky people you wanted to stay away from the battle grounds, even though the Eytukan, Jake sully and his wife Neytiri wanted you to stay with them on the battlefield you decided it would be best to leave.
The breeze made your body feel calm and warm, even though it was a chilly breeze, you enjoyed the silence, you enjoyed being in the nature of your home and listening to the sounds near you, the sounds of Eywa. You were grateful Eywa chose Jake, he lead the clans to victory. A great and powerful victory. He was Toruk Makto the rider of the great Leonoperyx.
You were just a simple Na’vi who was able to learn English from Grace or how you still want to call her Sa’nok. You were just a simple 20 year old. Turning your head you heard the sound of wings flapping and landing, hearing feet thumped on the ground.
“Tourk Makto…”
“Please, call me Jake sully [Name], I came to see you as well as my Yawne.”
Before you could react another Ikran landed, stepping off was Neytiri, the Tsahìk in training, the daughter to Mo'at and the passed Eytukan
“Hello.”
Her voice was monotone but relaxing, she touches her fingers to her forehead and pulled them down, Jake Sully doing the same, see you did it as well to show respect to the higher ranks and to the two that practically saved all of pandora.
“Why have you came to see me Jake sully..?”
“Me and Neytiri saw you on the battlegrounds, we saw how well you fought and how deeply determined you are, and we want you to be with us tonight, maybe go star gazing.”
“But..we haven’t talk or interacted since the battle between the sky people..”
“Ma Jake this isn’t what we talked about.”
“I know Yawne..just wait.”
“Just wait..? Hold on what do you mean just wait..? Are you planning to kill me?!”
“What?! No! We just- Ah..damnit, we. We do want you into our lives and we want you to join our bond.”
“But we- we barely know each other! We only know each other from the war!”
“And it’s a perfect opportunity to get to know each other more.”
“But the Tsahìk and Olo'eyktan are only supposed to be together I-I mean I would love to but..it wouldn’t work out.”
“But we can make it work, please..”
You backed up, sighing and shook your head in a response, walking off to where you Ikran rested, getting on top and pulling your goggles down and took off, Jake walked over to Neytiri as he saw her tail was down, upset as he comforted her.
“We will get them..I promise..”
Their foreheads touched, Neytiri breathing in softly, and got in her Ikran and flew off, Jake Sully following suit. Jake trying to gather ideas to nab you without anyone taking notice.

Collecting fruits was your task for the feast. They were perfect, each fruit were ripe and plump. You heard footsteps and turned your head, not seeing anyone so you reached for your bow, but before you could a hand clasped over your mouth, your Queue was tugged on making you whine in pain, you tried grabbing your knife but that was futile, your hands were pulled behind your back and your knife was taken, a cloth blinded your vision, your mouth was covered and you were taken away.
As your vision returned you saw the two clan leaders standing there, your body struggled, you felt Neytiri’s hand brush at your cheek, her smiling softly as Jake sat in-front of you. Well more so crouched.
“I’m sorry it had to be this way..but you weren’t gonna leave us..just know we love you..and we will be back soon.”
Your vision was blinded again as Jake left, Neytiri smiling at you once more before following her mate. The two ecstatic your joining them in their mate. For the rest of eternity..
One thing I wish would have been changed about avatar. I wish they would have shown more of earth and everything with it. I also wish it was in the theatrical version. Like it shows how shitty and how horrible it is. Especially the economy, pollution, and how different the people look and dress. All of them wearing masks and coverings as if they came from a post apocalyptic world.
And also how they have to use cloning to bring back animals that when extinct over centuries ago due to deforestation and pollution.
The saddest thing is how we see how humans live. Especially when we see where Jake sully lives. It’s a lot like some of the apartments we have today that some people can only afford.

So, I saw a semi-viral tweet a while back that bothered me because it not only felt like a complete misunderstanding of the point of Avatar as a film franchise, but also just a very childish view of how societies and different communities function. I can't find it though (I didn't interact with it and it has since been buried) so I apologize for not being able to give the best context.
It was your typical RDA sympathizing humanity first take (makes sense, the account that tweeted it was a walking red flag) that claimed that the na'vi were stupid for not accepting human advancement and technology, that humanity should always put its preservation first, and that the RDA were simply prioritizing the well being of their people whilst the na'vi wanted them gone. I want to start by addressing the latter take(s).
The first and second movies make it very clear that the RDA are NOT prioritizing the survival of Earth or humanity. They are a money hungry organization that want to monetize pandoran resources to their dying people in hopes to squeeze out whatever little money they have left. The people of Earth are said to be protesting them for that very reason, every solution to their planet's problems that they have discovered is insanely expensive and inaccessible to anyone below the upper class one percent. The RDA don't care about humanity, they care about profit, which is the exact reason why their actions are so callous in the films.
There are certainly humans that want to preserve humanity, but I truly cannot wrap my head around how you can watch either film and come to the conclusion that it is the RDA that wants the best for humanity. Avatar is not a "human bad" movie, it is a "corporate greed bad" movie, which is reflective of real life environmental issues. The individual is green, the individual recycles and doesn't litter, the individual cleans their local rivers and sea shores. However, the powerplants continue to polute our air, the corporations continue to flood our oceans with plastic, the rich continue to cut corners and burn the air with private jets.
I truly believe the reading of Avatar as an anti-humanity movie is what has lead to people thinking the RDA are the "good guys". It is because they actually believe the RDA are supposed to represent humanity and their will to keep surviving (and that James Cameron is portraying them as wrong for that), when it is clear they are a representation of the corporate greed that leads to environmental damage and the destruction of humanity.
As for the belief that the na'vi are hostile and somehow wrong for not caring to "advance" in the way humanity did, that is just flat out wrong. When it came to the respectful, peaceful humans such as Grace and her team, the na'vi were incredibly welcoming. I mean, Grace built an entire school for them and taught them human language and other human academics, so clearly they aren't against learning from humans. Again, Avatar is clear about the fact that humans as a collective aren't bad, corporate greed is.
However, why should the na'vi "advance" when there is no need to? Innovation is built on the back of necessity, and in a world where there is no need for certain technological advancements, why should the na'vi chase it? Why do they need phones and tablets and video games and McDonalds? They are living just fine without it. This idea that every society needs to be "modernized", even when they function just fine without said modernization has always driven me up a wall.
This entitlement from the western world is what leads colonial brained weirdos to try and go to indigenous islands and force religion or their world view upon them, because they believe that if a society doesn't function like the "modern" world, it is wrong. The na'vi don't need currency, or modern tech, or modern trends or fast food. They aren't perfect, but they also aren't in a desperate situation that would call for innovation or some sort of technological evolution. They are fine, they don't need nor even want it, and it is strange to believe humanity is in their right to force it upon them.
